One reviewer stated that setup took "5 minutes," but that is not true. It took me one full hour to get these setup and working with Alexa. Each one had to be setup individually, and the detection process for each one took about a minute. This was followed by a firmware update for each plug, which took a couple of minutes. I'd estimate that each one took approximately 5 minutes each just to get them connected to, and working with, the Innova Life app. The tricky part was then getting them to work with Alexa. The instruction sheet tells you to add the "Innova Life Skill" to Alexa. However, when you search for this skill, you will not find it. No worries though. The Innova Life app also offers instructions for for using them with Alexa, and when you follow those instructions, you find out that the name of the skill you are really looking for is "Smart Life." Once you have the skill added to the Alexa app, everything else goes smoothly. Admittedly, part of my one-hour setup time was burned spinning my wheels looking for an Alexa skill that does not exist. This plug is working fine with no issues. I like that it works with the Smart Life app, as I already use that app for many other devices. A good thing to know about these is that they save their schedules locally, so even if they are disconnected from the network, they will still execute the schedule. I have this one connected to a router, so if I need it to reboot the router, I will lose connection once the router is off. However, if I just schedule it to turn back on a couple of minutes after it turns off, it will effectively reboot the router and not leave me disconnected.= Read more

Ever wonder why the lamp you want to control is NEVER connected to the light switch on the wall? This is a simple way to fix that problem! The plugs are pretty straightforward in setup and operation. It is also nice to have something else to play with while we are spending too much time at home. It is also kind of nice to be able to investigate a nighttime noise in another part of the house by first turning on the lights remotely.
