The cable stays mounted on my truck. I used this to connect my truck to the the Redarc BCDC charger that keeps my lithium batteries charged. Thus cover does a great job of keeping dirt and water out of the plug. Like the plug itself it is a bit pricey for what it is but it does do a great job. so you get your moneys worth i think. buy once cry once Read more

The protective itself works great. However, the lanyard (which secures the cover to the cord when not in use) is not long enough to attach to the shore power cord on a 50A replacement connector due to the length and thickness of the strain relief that comes with the new connector. I zip-tied the end of the lanyard to the strain relief to give enough length to install the protective cover when needed. Read more
