I purchased these for my significant other in preparation for walking the Camino Portugués in September 2025. He liked the way they felt, and their lightweight nature meant they dried quickly after handwashing in sinks (just be sure to roll them in a towel to get out excess water). Because the material was not overly thick, they traveled wonderfully and did not add a ton of extra weight to our packs. Great value for the money, as they still look new. I've had 6 pair of Ridge Merino wool underwear for over a year now. They've held up great, display all the properties you want out of Merino underwear (odor resistance, sweat wicking, etc). I'm a creature of habit so when it was time for freshies my wife encouraged me to try another brand. I LOVE Smartwool socks...they are all I wear year round. So I bought these, a pair of Woolly's, a pair of Merino Protect, and a pair of Merino.tech to see what I liked best. I THOUGHT it would be the Smartwool's. They do all the Merino underwear stuff...BUT after a day of wearing they are super stretched out and baggy. I like my boxer briefs to stay snug...which probably means some level of synthetic fiber but I'm willing to accept that.
