I bought these as a gift. The are soft, warm, excellent quality, and a very cute design. They would make excellent socks for hiking as they have elastic in the arch and the ankle, but are warm for the toes with adequate cushioning. Great product. I love Smartwool socks! I also told myself a while back to slow down an Amazon purchases because I began suspecting authentic product and we all have the option of purchasing directly with producer on online sites - like Smartwool. since when did Smartwool switch to stamping its product vs stitching in its Little Guy logo? That's a big deal. Otherwise, Labeling looks ok and it represents 77% wool. If the socks keep my feet warm through the day, and make it through my walk, I may relent my suspicion and raise my stars. Right now, I can feel a heel seam. I have other Smartwool socks which are durable, warm and comfortable for my feet. The socks don't slide, and have held up to washing and drying. Smartwool socks are true to size. I wear a medium for a 8.5 shoe/boot. These socks are a pretty lavender - not my first choice - but it is cold, and right after xmas hard to find a plethora of choices. The length b/w heel and toe before pulling these on seemed short. These socks are cute but just ordinary in quality. They are extremely overpriced. They are NOT the thick cushioned sole of the smart wool socks that I have previously purchased.
