These are not WiFi so not sure why it’s asking me to rate it’s “WiFi”. These are Zigbee which IMO is far far superior to WiFi for home automation. Won’t go into detail on that but if you’re looking for plugs that connect to WiFi just go buy the cheapo deal-of-the-day plugs. These only connect to a Zigbee network. These are probably the best smart plugs I’ve used based on the form factor. The ikea plugs are best by value (~$11) but they are bulky and ugly. These are slim and good looking. You don’t have to give up an outlet to use it and it isn’t an eyesore. I’m using one right now as a Zigbee repeater in my network, nothing is plugged into it but I’ve tested the switch functionality and it works perfectly. I’ve got a bunch of devices connected through it and it works great to extend my network. Paired pretty easily with Home Assistant and no problems there, it’s pretty boring and “just works” in that respect (which is exactly what you want!) Read more

I wanted to control an outlet through Home Assistant and had started using Zigbee with a Sonoff gateway a while back, so I bought one of these switches. It works great with my Sonoff bridge, and because no actual wiring is required, it is easy to install and use right away. In fact, I have since purchased 8 more of these - the price on Amazon is very good, and the outlets are great! When you buy these, notice that the S31 Lite is usually zigbee, and the S31 (not lite) is usually WiFi, and includes some energy utilization data, but requires that you connect to a cloud service to use it. Some sellers are unclear about which model they are selling, so be sure that you are buying the model you really want. In addition to the S31 Lite zigbee outlets, I also bought a Wifi version to try out, but haven't used it yet. Read more

The two I ordered paired up instantly using zigbee2mqtt, work well as routers, and function great in general. The only issue is that the green status LED which is on constantly is crazy bright. There's no way to disable it in software so I had to put tape over it. I'll prob get a different brand in the future to avoid this. Read more

Even though these do not have a QR code, these added to a SmartThings network immediately. They work well and I've had no issues. They are ZigBee network items. Read more

Purchased these to integrate with a Home Assistant instance running a Sonoff ZigBee dongle. Having reset my HA instance several times (for various reasons) these were always found and added automatically without issue. They have worked without issue as well. Read more

It connects easily to a Echo Plus, you don't need a smart thing hub. It took 2 minutes for both to connect. The plugs turn on and off with voice commands and accepts routines from Alexa. This is a Zigbee, Protocol A device. If your Alexa device doesn't support Zigbee, you will need another hub. Don't confuse this with a Z-Wave device, those won't work with a Echo Plus. While the price was good, the Zigbee connection and the shape of the plugs were the deciding reasons for me to buy them. I don't want too many WiFi plugs clogging up my 2.4ghz network and Zigbee devices are complemenrary, running outside of WiFi. The plugs only take the place of one outlet space, many of the others cover up both spots. While I cannot speak to how long these will work, I am very happy with their integration with my Echo Plus and how well they function. They turn off and on, they are plugs. Read more

I picked these up because I found that Zigbee sensors I put inside my refrigerator to monitor temperature and would occasionally disconnect from the Raspberry Pi. To avoid this, I decided to add a "hard-wired" ZigBee device that could act as a relay. I found these smart outlets, and plugged one in right behind my fridge. All my connection woes have been resolved. Another is acting as a switch on a fan in a crawlspace, and I have had no issues with it either. The switching is extremely fast, and it never fails to respond to a command. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again! Read more

I have tried many, many zwave and zigbee products. For the price these function as well as any other. Quick pairing with a SmartThings’s v2 hub, reliable use. I wish they could have shrunk the form factor a bit but overall a good product. Read more
