The media could not be loaded. This is the way to do your smart home! I switched from Wi-Fi switches to these Sonoff Zigbee switches because I was increasingly concerned about constant Wi-Fi radio signals in the house. Wi-Fi devices typically transmit at 100–200 mW, while Zigbee runs at just 1–20 mW – often 10–100× lower power. That means drastically less RF exposure all day long. Peace of mind achieved, and they work perfectly with my hub. Setup is ridiculously easy with any Alexa Echo that has built-in Zigbee. Just plug it in (light flashes), say “Alexa, discover devices,” name it, add to a group – done. Local control works even without internet, and the Zigbee mesh keeps even far-away plugs rock-solid reliable. These plugs handle 15A/1800W, feel solidly built, and last. I run groups of 15+ plugs that all trigger instantly with routines like “I’m home” – way faster and more synchronized than my old Wi-Fi setup ever was. Highly recommended if you want truly smart home control without bathing your house in extra Wi-Fi radiation. Read more

I've seen lots of conflicting information in reviews and questions here, but as of November 2023, the Sonoff S40 Lite does indeed pair with and work with Hue. It was discovered perfectly during the "Add Light" search and it was discovered by Alexa immediately as well. I don't use any of the Hue remotes / switches, etc., so I can't speak for those (rumor has it, the S40 doesn't play well with those but the S31 does). I do, however, use Flic and the S40 outlets work with the Hue/Flic integration (although Flic doesn't seem to know the S40 is an outlet, not a bulb, so when toggling or setting the state it asks what color; I just choose "current"). Here's the issue ---- the blinking flickering LED light on the side button of the S40 Lite. I assume this is because the device isn't paired with the Sonoff app, so it's in a perpetual pairing mode? But that's just a guess on my part. When the outlet is off, it's a constant blinking green LED. When the outlet is on, it's a rapid blinking red/orange and green LED. It is dumb. It is pointless. And, it is annoying! I plan to probably just paint over the LED or the button with white out or white nail polish or something to just block it out. I am sure the issue could be fixed with a software update, but of course, without using the Sonoff app, I probably wouldn't ever be able to update the software anyway. Although I did take one star off for the blinking LED, value for money is exceptionally high! The Innr is still better in my experience, but it has been sold out and possibly discontinued. The S40 works, has an obnoxious blinking LED, but it way cheaper than alternatives. This is certainly a much better bargain than the Hue outlet and I really can't see any advantage in buying one Hue outlet for the price of 3 of the S40. Read more

These did not work for me at first, and I was preparing to return them DEFEATED. For reference, I run Home Assistant on a RPi4, with the SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus Gateway (TI CC2652P) available here on Amazon. When I bought that device mid-2022, it was loaded with firmware from July 2021. As a hopeful effort, I researched how to update the firmware of this device, and found Feb 2022 version was latest stable stack. After a bit of tedious work (you have to remove the sheath) and updating Windows drivers, IT WORKED! And while it took some time for my devices to re-connect after updating, I didn't lose any of my previously connected lights or plugs. Now these CONNECT EASILY and WORK GREAT!!!! Read more
