At $179 a pair, I told myself that I'd never spend that much on snow boots. Then I spent $50 on 2 pair of snow boots that my kids will only wear for a season and decided $179 for a lifetime pair of boots wasn't so bad. But the reviews about size were mixed, and the most reviewer reports of the boots being uncomfortable came from women with size 9 feet or bigger (mine are 11). I read that there's a part of the liner that rubs against the inside part of the foot/ankle. That's true with the right boot, but with any socks that are thicker than paper-thin I don't feel it. I read that they're clunky and heavy. I guess that's true, but they're made to protect my feet from snow, water and extreme cold. If they weren't heavy, I don't think they could do those things. I knew they'd require getting used to, so wore them to the movie theater for the first time. Not much walking, but time for them to stretch out and conform to my feet. I also read that they're hard to get on and off, which was definitely true the first time. The second and third times were much easier. AND, my feet mine are super, abnormally wide just under my toes. I was worried the rigidity of the boot would hurt/squish that area of my foot. It did for a few minutes the first time I wore them,but sliding my toes forward made the pain stop. I ordered my regular size,11, and there is the recommended amount of "extra" space that snow/cold weather boots should have. Overall, I LOVE them! Wish I would have ordered them before our first 2 snowstorms,instead of the cheap $32 snow boots that looked terrible. I sent them back and upgraded to these!!❤️ Read more

Super comfy and warm. I was on the fence about ordering an 11 or a 10 because although I am a solid 11, I've been a 10 in previous versions of the Joan of Arctic boots. I can say that if you are solidly one size, go with that size or a half size up if you want extra wiggle room! Read more

Got these for my daughters that typically wear a 9-1/2. I ordered size 10 to accommodate thick socks. 10 was too small with thin socks. Re-ordered 10-1/2 - hopefully they will fit. Read more
