I have had these for months and waited to write this review because don't you just hate when people review something before they actually know if it works well and holds up? I purchased these to add some "strength training" to my walks. I love that I can choose from 3 different weights depending on how motivated I feel that day :) The handles on each weight make carrying them so comfortable, even on a long 5 mile walk. The handles have remained attached and the strong stitching is showing no signs of wear. They are very well made. I thing the best feature is that you can unzip them and wash the covers!! They get so grimy but after washing them they look brand new and smell great! The color coded weights also help when I'm in a hurry so I don't accidently grab 2 different weights. The media could not be loaded. Wanted some hand weights for walking and aerobics exercise and these fit the need. Fun colors, I luv that they are washable with the inner weight bag removable. I may be a little concerned over time the type of material may rip easily but hopefully not. The size is perfect for your hand. The band over your hand is not adjustable but does stretch, not helpful if your hands are tiny lol. I think they are a good value for the cost. Read more
I’m a personal trainer and these are great to add to larger dumbbells when you need a little bit more weight but don’t have the option. Sometimes I need 13 or 14 lbs rather than jumping 12-15. Those are perfect for that. They are also comfortable in my clients, hands as opposed to metal dumbbells. They seem to be very well made and I love that I have three weights from which to choose. I initially tried to find a set of hand weights that started with a 2# set up to 4# because I already had a set of 1# weights. Unlike this set, however, I have trouble fitting my medium wide span of fingers under the straps. So I'm glad I couldn't avoid buying a redundant set of 1# weights. These are good colors for me with zippers that allow removing the inserts to wash the exterior. This was important to me because I knew the sand would be enclosed in its own pouch and less likely to pour out of a tear in the exterior fabric. Alas, I'm not even likely to use a 4# set for walking; The 3# set that comes with the 1# and 2# weights is heavy enough. Probably more important, these were a better buy as a set of three than any a la carte set of hand weights.
