This item was purchased for one of my users who had recently been diagnosed with a disk compression injury in the lumbar portion of his spine. I was asked to look into retrofitting his office with a standing desk of some sort. His existing desk is Shaker style, very simple and clean lines. Most products are bulky and obtrusive, and would have seriously detracted from the overall appearance of his office. This product had what we were looking for - something not too bulky and could be raised and lowered easily. My only wish was more variety in colors. It is a solidly built unit that will not slip or slide easily on the desk. The surface area is large enough to hold a 24" touchscreen monitor and keyboard with plenty of room to spare. This has exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an electric converter and am glad I didn't go that route. This desk is incredibly easy to move up and down, for when I'd like to switch from standing to sitting. I had skepticism and am happily surprised! Came right out of the box ready to use...no putting anything together, which I dread. I love the quality and color (cherry) which matched my desk vs. all of the black and white options out there. It looks high-quality. I can use my laptop, have room for my notebook, and it's wide enough for me to write in my notebook and lean on it with no problems. I highly recommend. Read more

LOVE IT! This product is awesome. To be fair, I am starting to think that any standing platform option is good. But if you are looking to change your sitting desk into a standing option, make sure you buy a quality product. I've seen some adjustable standing options that had awful reviews and there's a reason why they were priced so cheap. On the other end of the spectrum, I saw the really high end ones that seemed like way too much money for what they do. I might as well buy a whole new desk for the money some of those high quality / high price options charge. I'm sure they're great, but this works fabulously. What I like is that this is a very simple design and operation, and it sits just fine on my desk. Make sure you can fit this the way you want! I have some shelves that are now useless when I am standing but I can take that hit because I never used them anyway. I also like that this didn't take any set up. All you need to do is put it on your desk and insert a stability rod and you're set. This is super heavy, just saying, but only when carrying the whole device, it is not too heavy to move up and down. The only thing I will say about this that you should be aware of, is that it can feel a smidge wobbly when in the highest position, but that makes sense and it is not a hindrance. I am an excessive, quick, angry typist so I notice it, but other people might not. The hardest part of this product was clearing the junk off my desk that I needed to clean anyway. If you are looking to start standing at your desk and you don't want to buy the $500 options, or don't have room on your existing desk for them, definitely get the X-Elite Pro. Read more

After searching for months and months for a variable sitting/standing desk that would fit with my home set-up and returning one that didn't work from VariDesk, I found this one. This is excellent and suits my needs pretty well. The VariDesk unit and almost all of the others I reviewed on Amazon and elsewhere would not work for me because in the seated/flat position they are almost all 6 inches above the desk. I am only 5'1" so that made the monitor way too high. Because of that, I had to return the VariDesk. This one works well because it is barely 2 inches above the desk in its flattest position. (See photos) It glides up and down smoothly and occupies a small amount of real estate on my desk. Yet it is large enough to accommodate my big, bulky, unwieldy ergonomic keyboard, with room next to it for the mouse. It was also much lighter than all the other sitting/standing desks on the market. This one weighs about 20 lbs but is very stable -- just right for a petite woman. I live alone so I don't have any help lifting heavy things. The VariDesk I returned weighed 45 lbs and was one of the smaller ones they offered. The only thing I dislike about this unit and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have a lower pull-out tray for the keyboard. That makes the keyboard a tad high for comfort for my arms and wrists (I had carpal tunnel surgery on both years ago so my forearms and wrists are weak). But if I lower it so it's more comfortable for my arms and wrists, then the monitor is too low to see easily. Having a lower pull-out keyboard tray would have made this unit absolutely perfect. But then, that would have made it heavier too, so I guess you can't have perfection. Alas. Read more
