This was so important to storing and transporting my kid's XL twin mattress topper. It definitely compressed the topper to allow it to be rolled up tightly. The material of the bag is heavy and sturdy. The reason for 4 stars is the the straps that come with it are not heavy duty. To maintain the rolled up compression, they need to be stronger than the ones included. Only because I store it in a tight space, does it not unroll. Not so good, but has pretty much been the success I’ve had with other size vacuum bags. Didn’t stay sealed. I tried four times, running the tabs back and forth several times. Air gets sucked out fine but after less than an hour foam mattress is back to regular size. On the last seal I was able to roll and strap but was not small enough to store in my intended spot. I will keep the bag to get the mattress rolled and strapped but I’m done ordering vacuum bags. Great concept just doesn’t work well. Would help if they had “blue and yellow make green” seal like the old sandwich bags. Read more

I was extremely skeptical that this would work, but I’m happy to say, I was very impressed! This is basically a giant space bag. It’s important to ensure that the zipper is closed before you begin. This takes 3-4 passes with the clip like the instructions state. It took only about 10 minutes max to deflate the mattress. Two of us compressed it while the vacuum was on. We were able to roll it up and secure it easily with the included straps. We tied the loose ends of the straps to make carrying handles and that helped transport the mattress up and down stairs. This product absolutely saved my butt when moving my daughter to her new apartment. I was able to fit the mattress in a smallish SUV and I still had room for a lot more stuff. Summary: Good for sealing mattress to be protected during move and to make it more compact. Straps are not very strong and may need to purchase separate straps to keep it rolled up. Use caution, the bag gets easily punctured if you're not careful. We used this product to seal up our queen sized mattress for a move across the country. By sealing the mattress, we were able to avoid bug or mold while it was being stored/transported in a Uhaul U-Box for over 2 weeks. But the best part was that we were able to compact down our mattress and then even roll it to ensure that it used up the least amount of space. We did use a strap to keep it rolled up during storage/transport. Unfortunately, we did accidentally make a hole in the first try, so we ended up using two vacuum bags (I bought two just in case), but I think that was better so that the bag didn't get punctured while moving it and also so that it was able to stay even more compact. The straps that comes with the mattress was not quite strong enough to keep the mattress rolled up, so we purchased a different item for keeping shape.
