The latch slips into place far too easily and is too easily opened. The entire file case would need to be placed under additional lock and key to bolster security. Very thin plastic. Not really rigid. More flexible. But gets the job done. I would not expect this to hold up to carrying a lot of files. Packed full, no. But a reasonable amount that keeps it neat inside should be fine. The drawer that slides out of the bottom (must do to open and use it) has spaces for pens and pencils and smaller spaces for paper clips, staples and even a small pocket stapler can fit inside on its side. I do prefer the kind that has a removable tray inside the lid and maybe even an envelop slot. As I have seen some mention, it is NOT lockable. I don't even see that is the description at this time. I purchased this storage box because I couldn't get anymore of the other brand I'd ordered and had been very happy with. This one? A complete waste of money. There isn't too much in the way of abuse that these storage boxes take in our life. It got documents put in it and then got put in a climate controlled storage room in our offices so we had them for future reference. Upon taking the unmoved and untouched box from storage to reference papers a couple of years later, the latch wouldn't open. Then it wouldn't close. The handle came off in my hands when I went to take it. We managed to get the handle to close again once we accessed the documents but it won't stay closed and comes flying open allowing all the docs inside to come spewing out. How does a storage box like this degrade in quality from being untouched, unopened, and left with all the other storage boxes in a climate-controlled room? Does it degrade in the dark - this is a secure interior room - no sunlight?? Keep shopping and by another, better brand. This one is a waste of time and money. Read more

It does hold quite a bit and I like the drawer. As others have posted the clasp doesn't do a very good job of keeping the lid locked when you try to lift it by the handle. Fortunately I was able to remedy this problem with a bungee cord. Read more
