Gaffers tape is truly a wonder that the world in general doesn't know about. It had been a few years since I used it last and I had forgotten how nice it is to have tape that holds onto practically any surface, do it's job securing whatever you stick it to and then release when the project is complete without leaving a gummy mess on the surface. I bought two different rolls of this tape, one black and one white and both were great...I highly recommend! It's a little pricey, but I'll never use gummy, generic duct or "DUCK" tape again. We got this to put up the Christmas lights and to cover the walkway, so nobody would trip on the cord. It went on nicely but the next day you could tell some areas head lifted so we had to go back in there. The color was nice. The quality was nice. Not cloth based and too sticky It's a perfectly good tape, but it's not gaffer's tape. It's stickier, so it will tear off paint on drywall. It doesn't leave a residue, like gaffer's tape should, so for sturdier surfaces it's fine. The adhesive is more sensitive to moisture than real gaffer's tape, though; any water seems to wreck it. I'm giving it three stars because the title is an outright lie. It is not fabric based. You might call it a "nonwoven fabric" but I don't think it's really that either. It's a textured synthetic. I don't think the tape is porous at all, one virtue of Gaffere's tape. It does often tear in a straight line which implies some structure like fabric; but it often doesn't where gaffer's always does. This mystery substance does not stretch or conform like gaffer's tape, and is not pleasant to touch like gaffer's. I won't be ordering it again, but I do use it to save money where I don't need the quality of real gaffer's tape! Read more

Its not as high quality as the name brand but it is a good tape for a temporary hold and it will not leave a residue. Other then that it works well for cord organization, the colors they offer helps disguise the tape and it is a thinner tape and easy to rip, its slightly textured as well. Read more
