Over the past 8 years or so, we've purchased 3 of these dryers. They are mainly all plastic with some metal internal parts obviously, but the molded parts are smooth and high quality. On high speed there is some noise of course, but not deafening. High power heat and fan makes short work of drying wet hair. A mounting bracket with installation hardware is included, but the printed booklet included is mainly safety tips in multiple languages with no real instructions showing how to install it (although it's fairly obvious how to do it.) Under the removable screen covering the back of the fan, there is a switch to select operation at 1200 or 1500 watts depending upon what size electric circuit is available. The unit stores any length of lead in cord not needed inside the wall mounted base so no extra cord is left exposed or hanging loose. In each case, none of the 3 units we purchased lasted more than 3-4 years of daily use. Typically we've had fan blade failure which ended the usability of each dryer. I have tried many wall-mounted hair dryers and they always fail after a few months of use. This one works better to begin with and has already outlasted the others. Nice dryer. The only small downside is that the on/off switches are on the base instead of the dryer. But, not a big deal. Read more

Only my second Sunbeam wall-mounted hair dryer in 26 years. This one is great and attached to the same plate as the old one. Reason for new one was the latch to hold it in place broke. Dryer still ran great after 26 years of daily use. Only neg is short coil cord. Read more
This projects far enough from the wall due to its shape that I had to move the mounting bracket to clear a cabinet door, so be sure you have room. It is reasonably quiet, and I find I actually like the night light which I thought would be unnecessary. Read more
After spending another vacation week in a Hilton using this wonderful dryer, I knew it would be disappointing to go home and not have one. Its compact, perfect heat settings (2) and so easy to use. The cord is the perfect length. I never take a blowdryer with me when I travel because I just love these wall mounted ones by Sunbeam. You have one button to push to turn it on and then when you're done, just put the dryer back into its holder and it automatically turns off. Its easy to clean, and easy to change the wattage setting. I mounted it near my mirror and the nightlight which I thought would not be a good thing, turns out to be so perfect in the middle of the night. Having two heat settings as far as inside the dryer to save electricity is great for those that want a softer not as hot two-setting dryer or those that are trying to save money among other things. I have had six of these since 2014 because they work well, look good, and fit neatly in compact wall spaces. Usage has been only about 30 seconds per day, so for me the dryers should last a long time. The ones I bought in 2014 and 2019 lasted 59 months and 49 months, but then the life spans of new replacements plummeted starting in 2023. The one I bought in 2023 and the two in 2024 lasted only 17, 3, and 6 months, and each of these had what sounded like a defective motor manifesting early as intermittent brief high pitch motor noise strongly suggestive of bad bearings. The dryers continued to work fine otherwise over the months while the annoying bearing noise got worse and worse, finally ending with overheating, electrical odor, and motor death. I assumed the had company changed to a cheaper motor at some point for this very popular hair dryer model, but -- hoping for a correction of the obvious defect -- I went through two more of the same model because the wall bracket was neatly mounted in a snug corner, making it easy to pop in a new one. Also, they are Sunbeams! I fondly recall growing up in the '60's with my grandmother's amazing automatic handle-free Sunbeam toaster that gently lowered the bread after just a tap on the slice in the slot. Oh well. This is my 2nd Sunbeam wall mounted hair dryer. I have another review posted here on Amazon for Oster wall mounted hair dryers as well. My 1st Sunbeam lasted exactly two years , just as the 4 Oster Dryers I had before. So, I'm now on my 6th wall mounted dryer and fully expect that this dryer will require replacement in a couple of years as well. Why do I waste my money on these appliances? Well... they are just so dang convenient. They put out just the right level of heat and air, the Sunbeam has an LED light which has grown on me, I hated it at first. Most of all, I don't see any other option that fits my small bathroom. I don't want a giant hair dryer with a cord that is tangled all over. When I buy a new one the wall mounting brackets all seem to match. So, get it right once and when the next one bites the dust, you just snap a new one into the existing bracket and go about your life. It would be nice if there was a quality product out there with this same form factor, but I have yet to find it... I will update you in another couple of years, Read more
