Outstanding knife set. Best I have ever owned
Outstanding knife set. Best I have ever owned. I used to work in the food distribution profession for almost 4 decades before retiring. Both selling and then managing food service supply categories for 2 of the largest companies in the world. These knives are great for a basic set. (And when I say basic, it should cover 95% of what you are cutting in your home kitchen). Nice looking and feel great in the hand. And very importunately, offset handles. I looked at knife sets that had the magnetic blocks instead of the holder, but talking to people I hear they never work well. Besides, something as sharp as these, I want the blades protected in an encased block. Its a heavy knife block and looks beautiful on my counter top. Prepping is not my favorite part of cooking. But so much nicer when you have quality knives. Read more

Much better than expected
Thought I would give these a try given the VG10 steel to compare to my Shun classic knives. The fit and finish on these is better than the Shun and they arrived insanely sharp. It has been my go to knife now for quite a few months and has retained much of its original sharpness. Have not had to sharpen yet, but seems to retain an edge as good as my Shun classic. Great gift idea.
Good entry level kitchen knives. The set I ordered is made of German high carbon stainless steel and appears to be good quality. Unfortunately, this set did not include a sharpener rod. Not a deal breaker, but maintaining sharpness is a must and having a rod in the knife block is convenient. The block itself is average; knife slots need a little more play and closer to a 45 degree angle in the design. Read more
