Uh, hands down, best set of Japanese cutlery for the money,
Fantastic knives!!! I have a set of Miyabi Kaizen II so, I can do a legit side by side. These knives are of the highest quality and should be comfortably next to a Shun, Miyabi, or Wusthoff, seriously. They come in a very attractive and sturdy box, well packaged with tip guards. They are SHARP!!! Probably one of the sharpest blades I’ve ever used. The olive wood handle is very attractive and treated but don’t leave them in the sink and certainly don’t submerge them longer than you need to for cleaning. I ordered the 5 piece set and ordered the nikiri knife as well. I’m so impressed by them and truly feel spoiled given the price. The bread knife is fantastic and rips through the crustiest artisan bread with ease! (who ever talks about a bread knife?!?) thin slices sourdough? no problem…All I need now is the fillet/boning knife and I am set. All in all, they can hang with the Miyabi and are right there in terms of quality. Durability and longevity will be tested long term…and results remain to be seen, but so far, so good. If you’re on a limited budget and want high end cutlery, seriously consider these. They’re freaking awesome! Read more
