Why I ordered this item: I drink a lot of coffee and was tired of making espresso at home and going out for lattes. I wanted something that could handle both without taking up my entire kitchen. This looked like the perfect size, and it looks good in general. Likes: * The milk frother is the real star here. Once you figure out the positioning, which took me maybe three attempts, it makes legitimately good microfoam. Not barista-level, but it's creamy and thick enough that it doesn't just sink into the espresso like some of the cheaper machines do. * The touchscreen is intuitive. I was worried it would be one of those finicky things where you have to press buttons in some weird sequence, but it's straightforward. Pick your drink, adjust if you want, hit brew. * Cold brew function is a nice addition even if it's not something I use constantly. Being able to switch between hot espresso drinks and cold brew on the same machine means I don't need a separate brewer sitting around. * Heats up fast. There's barely any preheat time, so you're not standing around waiting in the morning. * The self-cleaning cycle works. Run it once a week and the machine stays pretty clean. I really have enjoyed this expresso machine. I'm not a experienced coffee drinker, but I do occasionally enjoy a drink at popular coffee chains. I decided to try this though as I'm trying to cut out pop. Its hard for me to say quality wise but I can say that both myself & my partner who don't normally drink coffee found the expresso it produced to be very tasty! The cold brew function especially came out very smooth, not too bitter, and we only needed to add a bit of our favorite creamer & a touch of sugar to make a quite enjoyable drink. The reason for four stars instead of five was the instructions were not the best. The function of the coffee maker portion was easy to figure out on our own as well as the assembly of the machine because its quite user friendly. However the milk frother we have not been able to figure out. We attempted to press the frothing function in the same way as the coffee function, but all that resulted was the temperature going higher & higher. Eventually it read over 300 degrees & there was a popping sound, air dispensed but nothing else. This is course could be user error but as hot as it was saying it was, it didn't feel safe to continue trying to use this feature. Otherwise, it seems easy to clean, being mostly plastic, except for parts that were metal. I think the price is pretty comparable to similar machines. Lids close up nicely, its loud but not too loud, and doesnt take long to make a great cup of expresso. Read more
