I have several selfie stick tripods but they are the clamp type where the spring loaded clamps hold the phone. I don't care for these so I’m trying a magnetic version. The Takerers magnetic selfie stick is mostly plastic with a metal extension tube. It also has a bluetooth shutter button and it does come with an adhesive ring for the back of your phone if it’s not already magsafe. The magnetic arm is stable and has a smooth movement through it's arc from closed to fully open. The magnet is strong but not grabby. Also, this arm only moves up and down, there is no side to side movement throughout the whole device. The magnet will always face the leg with the logo on it. The tripod legs are sturdy and keep wobble to a minimum. I like that I can use this to hold the phone while I’m sitting on the couch or in bed to watch movies or videos as well. The shutter button paired without issue and worked as expected. I like that in the folded position, the magnetic ring covers the shutter release (it’s removable) to keep it from falling out. My other selfie stick suffers from this issue. My one word of caution when using this in selfie mode. As I mentioned above the magnet base is strong but not grabby. If you are using this in selfie mode with the shaft extended be careful not to bump the shaft against a wall for example as I found it very easy for small jolts to knock the phone off from the magnetic ring and fall to possible demise. Try this for yourself over a soft surface to understand what it takes to knock the phone off before finding out in real life standing on a bridge or over the railing of a ship for that perfect shot. Also, the stick and my iPhone 14 weigh in at one pound seven ounces. This is pretty heavy to handle for a selfie with the shaft extended all the way. This is the perfect social media content tripod. As someone who films for social media constantly, I needed a tripod that was small and compact but could also be full size. I found this tripod and LOVE it! The magnetic ring is STRONG and so far I've had no issues when filming of it becoming loose or falling off. I will say I wish the magnetic ring was for both sides and the adjustable tilt only goes one way. I still can't believe so small or large you can adjust the tripod, it's super functional for anything you shoot. It has some weight to it as well, I was surprised! This selfie tripod is almost perfect. It's tall, feels well built, magnet is plenty strong. However the main gripe I have with it is that it claims to be 360 degrees rotatable but the head is stationary and cannot be rotated at all. When using this as a tripod on uneven surfaces, you have to set the legs in certain locations for it to be stable, which means it may not be pointing in the direction that you want to take the photo. Since the head cannot be rotated, you cannot fix the direction of your photo. Another gripe is I have to select the remote on my iPhone 16 every time to get it to pair, it does not automatically pair when the remote is turned on. Read more
