These work pretty good. They are bright, but not as bright as some of the other ones that I have. I thing being long fins instead of wide, they light up a larger area, but spread the light out much more. I am still pleased with the value of them and their build quality. Read more

Plastic at socket connector melts. So it's just a matter of time / use before it breaks. Within 1 year 1 broke; within another year another broke. Seller should disclose the limited life span of this item. OR upgrade the weld / material at the weld. For example, if the metal connector had 4 steel petals at the end, which were screwed or affixed to the plastic section, this would probably hold up far longer. Short of a re-design, these seem highly prone to failure over time. When I bought it, lots of POSITIVE reviews from people within first 3 months of purchase. I bought several and over 2 years have about a 50% failure rate. The ones USED THE MOST also FAILED THE MOST - likely due to heat degrading what looks like a "spot weld" between the metal and plastic sections. I'd never put these above an area where it would be dangerous for them to fall. NOTE: it may be possible to use crazy glue to re-attach them but who knows how safe this is. Read more
