I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these sheets! Yup, they're pricey, and they are so freaking worth it! They are smooth, heavy, with that delicious surface feel that makes you just sigh when you slide into bed. The fitted sheet has heavy elastic, and the pockets are deep and perfectly suited to stay put on thick mattresses. They are heavy duty, smooth, and luxurious. They aren't going to wear out. Seriously, I hate it when people gush on and say they are "obsessed" over anything; however, these sheets have ruined us for any others. I won't be ordering sheets from anyone else again. I gave these sheets to all of my adult children as Christmas gifts this year, and everyone one has told me that they were THE FAVORITE gift. I splurged and got a set for the guest room. I have absolutely no time for bedding made out of anything other than 100% cotton (OK, that and my one 100% silk pillowcase) because nothing else is as soft, comfortable, and most importantly, breathable. These pillowcases are exactly why I love cotton bedding; they start out soft, and just seem to get softer with washing. I already have a couple of grey sets of sheets, so these are a perfect addition to my bedding collection, since they match perfectly with what I have. The cotton fabric is thick and great quality, with neat, even stitching along the hems and seams. They’re kingsized, so they fit my excessively large wannabe hotel-style goose down pillows with no problem. I’ve put them through the washer and dryer multiple times at this point, and like I said, they just seem to get softer and more comfy every time. This fitted sheet has that old-fashioned, crisp cotton percale feel that is hard to come by these days. No silky or hot feel here, just cool breathable cotton without any harmful chemicals. Pockets are nice and deep and fit well even over both a 2" topper and padded mattress cover. The elastic is tight enough to keep the sheet in place on your mattress with no shifting or pulling up. tl;dr The perfect old-fashioned percale-weave 100% cotton sheet! (Fitted sheet only) I only like cotton bed linens, and I much, much prefer the old-fashioned percale weave, but oh my gosh, so hard to find. Even when I have found some over the past couple decades that are labeled as 100% cotton percale, I've been disappointed. But I saw this TEXAS LINEN CO. 100% Cotton Percale Weave Fitted Sheet Queen Size, Crisp White, 1 Deep Pocket Queen Fitted Sheet, Fits Mattress Upto 18" Crisp and Cool Bed Linen and decided to give it a try. I always launder sheets before the first use to get rid of any manufacturing chemicals and odor. I was pleased to open the package to find this sheet had no odor, and it didn't feel gross like some can. Now, I've spent 50-something years washing bed linens in hot water and drying either on the clothesline (my preference) or in a hot dryer, but I followed the care instructions in the listing and washed this in warm water on the gentle cycle and dried it on low in the dryer. It came out just like any cotton sheet would: just waiting for the opportunity to wrinkle. I fold my sheets immediately to prevent wrinkling, but if you are the forgetful type, just know this sheet will wrinkle if left sitting in the dryer. There was no pilling, and if the listing is correct that it's made with high-quality long-staple cotton fibers, I don't expect it ever will pill, especially since I wash sheets alone with no other types of items. This fitted sheet is well constructed. The seams are tight and straight. It has a tag specifying the top/bottom edge to make it a little easier to make the bed. The elastic is narrower than other sheets I have, but it feels like a nice strong elastic. It fits my deep mattress well. I really need a completely taut bottom sheet that stays taught, and that's just about impossible for any sheet to achieve, since I'm always using my adjustable bedframe, so I use elastic "sheet suspenders." However, before I put them on, I did notice that this sheet's elastic seemed to give a tight, smooth fit most people would be happy with. The feel of the sheet is smooth and crisp, just as a cotton, percale-weave sheet should be. I love it. I don't understand or like this trend of selling each piece of a sheet set individually, but I was also able to find the matching flat sheet from this same company, and it is just as wonderful. I purchased a complete set of these (fitted sheet, regular sheet, pillow cases) in the white color. They are very nice sheets and I am a big fan of the 100% cotton material. I don't recall what percale means but it used to be a term always associated with the finer cottons, and if it refers to a weave style this one is a nice tight weave. The finished edges are ok, and not what I would call an impressive style, just a simple and pretty short overlay at the top of the regular sheet. In other words, not what I would call luxurious, which is pretty much how I feel about the sheets overall: nice and comfy all cotton that will only get softer with age, but I have to point out that these do not have the treatment against wrinkling that the best all cotton sheets normally have--or as some manufacturers do, a small amount of synthetic material to give a nice flat look. If that is your style, you will have to iron these sheets to get a crisp finish, which I'm sure would look nice if so treated. Long story short, these are nice basic sheets in a rare all cotton, very comfortable material. The sizes fit easily on my fairly large king mattress, so no issues there. I will leave the same review for all of the products as my experience has been the same for the various items. These pillow cases fit my normal sized pillows just fine. Read more
