This thermometer is working great. It reads quite quickly and I love that it is waterproof. I like that it automatically turns on when you pull out the probe making it easy to use. For the price this is exactly what I needed. So far it seems to be more accurate then then gauge on my grill but need to test it more to see. Read more

We've used what are essentially copy-cats of this thermometer. Those are usually in the 10 dollar range and they're crap. In no time, the batteries either wear out, the probe doesn't always register on the display when opened, and it switches to Celcius all the time. Also, the cheap ones use annoying button cell batteries--who has time for that crap. So I was heavily motivated to find a better instant read thermometer and this ThermPro is it. They've got lots of models to choose from, almost in an annoying way to be honest with seemingly duplicate features, so it took me a while to pick. However, I love this one. I thought the price was steep at first but I'm glad I bought it. First, it trully is an instant read. I think the instructions say a few seconds or something but in the moment when you're using it, it's an instant-read. It's accurate and has consistent readings, which is GREAT. The consistency is what the cheap ones don't have. Also, we love that you can read it no matter which hand it's in. And it's a very simple layout and design--open the probe and it turns on. 1 bright digital readout. That's it! Oh, and my personal favorite is it takes standard batteries, not those stupid-as button cell batteries that look the same but have 3 different sizes, never last, and are expensive. Somebody finally had common sense when they designed a battery operated accessory. We don't regret the purchase at all, and now I'm looking at their smoker therms. Great. Read more
