This is an undeniably heavy-duty set of clippers. Right out of the package, you can feel that they are built to last and are more than capable of handling even the thickest toenails. The cutting power is impressive; they honestly feel like they could cut through a small wire. The long handle provides great leverage, and having three different clippers in the set is a nice touch. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is a direct result of its main feature: the super wide opening. Because the jaws open so far, you have to press the lever a long way before they actually close and make the cut. It makes the clipping action feel a bit slow and deliberate. They are incredibly effective and will certainly get the job done on tough nails, but the long travel required to make the cut is a minor inconvenience. I don’t think that my toenails are particularly thick; my previous smaller toenail clippers actually cut my nails OK. What interested me about these initially was the one that had the “unusual” cutting angle, because a problem I HAVE been having is my own flexibility to achieve the angle necessary. With these clippers, cutting my toenails is SO much easier due to the one that has that “unusual cutting angle (the only thing that could be improved would be possibly having a rubber, non-slip coating on the area that you actually grip with your fingers. It’s not that these are slippery or anything, and I’ve never actually seen clippers with rubber grips, so I don’t hold it against these). I thought the size of these would make it awkward to use on smaller finger nails, but that didn’t prove to be the case. The increased leverage (from the large size of these) and incredibly sharp blades cut through anything. These are the best clippers I’ve ever used/owned.
