Best Budget Readers I’ve Tried – Perfect for Post-LASIK Eyes!

After having LASIK years ago, I hit that presbyopia wall at 47 and started needing readers for my phone, menus, and close-up work. I grabbed the TruVision 3-pack in +1.50 (black frames) because the price was unbeatable, and honestly, I was skeptical about cheap Amazon glasses holding up. Wow, was I wrong – these are fantastic! The lenses are crystal clear with no distortion, which is huge for my post-LASIK sensitivity. The Sure-Flex spring hinges make them super comfortable (no pinching behind the ears even after hours), and the Dura-Tight screws mean they don’t loosen up like every drugstore pair I’ve owned. They’re sturdy yet lightweight, the classic rectangular style looks sharp and professional (not cheesy), and having three pairs means I can stash one in the car, office, and nightstand without breaking the bank. Great value – way better quality than you’d expect for the price. If you’re on the fence like I was, just go for it. These have made reading small print effortless again. Highly recommend! Read more

Great Glasses, but all 3 pair are crooked beyond my ability to level them even.

Cracked on the frame just above the lens about a 1/2 inch up from the nose bridge area.

This is an update: My email to the seller was well received and they followed up within one day with an apology, thanked me for my loyalty (I'm not being paid for this review) and sent me a complimentary box of 3 for my troubles! Excellent customer service. I've tried out more than one set of readers as I am VERY hard on glasses. I use these daily and I often work outdoors. I used to buy readers at Costco but hated the cheap plastic lens quality and never could see as clearly as my glass prescription lenses. I've tried numerous styles and brands including the highly touted blue filter lenses. These frames are not as sturdy as some, the most fragile part of the frame is on top, next to the nose bridge which cannot be glued back together. I've sent the company an email regarding this issue and will update after they've responded. The weakest part on most readers is the focal area, which is near center. The focal point on these spans the entire acrylic lens and the visual spectrum is the best that I've found without paying for glass lenses. The price point is affordable enough that I budget for them as though they were disposable. I come back every six to twelve months and take the diopter test to see if my number has changed. Still my favorite non-glass readers on Amazon! Read more
