I was thinking of giving this a 4 star rating but gave it a 5. I use this headset with my PS3 and PS4. It works the same on both. At first I tested it with a few games and movies. I noticed with the Mortal Kombat game, surround sound came in great but volume was lower than I expected and I cranked everything to max. Well that was just during the cut scenes, the actual game play, it cranked out ! But then I realized that was just one game. Playing Call of Duty Black Ops II and Call of Duty Ghost. The sound is perfect. Oh and the dobly digital surround sound is amazing in FPS game. Can not tell you how many times I actually turned around because I heard something behind me, not realizing it was just in the game. Its also great with watching bluray movies. CONS: A few issues, even though they do not really take away from the 5 star rating, they are there. The set up is kind of combersome with all the long freakin cables, connecting the optical cable AND the USB cable. Not to mention trying to find the perfect surround sound setting and equalizer setting with no screen or display. You just have to keep pressing the 2 settings buttons until you find the right sound. Also I notice I usually keep the surround sound setting the same but I have changed up the equalizer setting depending on if I am watching a movie or a game. It has no way to save presets. And it ONLY supports dolby digital... does not support DTS. Most of my movies are DTS surround sound which means I have to disable surround sound for it sound any good. And doing that basically turns it into a normal stereo headset. Its an amazing stereo headset but its still JUST a stereo headset. But I did not buy this for the movies, I bought it for the gaming and it delivers. Again, it does work for PS3 and PS4. In fact, it will work with ANY device that has a optical output. And the price was great !!!! Paid $79 and it sounds like one of the $200 headsets. Must have ! Read more

I'm using this headset on my PS4. It arrived on time and as advertised. Brand spanking new in factory package. Let me start this review by stating that I am an audiophile. This is not an audiophile quality headset. Don't buy it expecting any miracles. But for a console gaming headset, you cannot beat this package! The sound is really good. In game it sounds like listening to a movie over a mid range home theater surround sound system. The Dolby Digital adds a depth and clarity that should make anyone grin ear to ear, especially considering this P11/DSS2 combo is less than fifty dollars. Headset is light and comfortable on my very large head. Some people complain about the cord getting twisted up. A simple fix is to not twist the cord. Get or make a headset stand and take it off and on the stand the same way every time and the cord won't twist. The price point to benefit ratio of this bundle is insane. Cinematic game sound with superior voice chat capability. You can't go wrong with this bundle. Read more

I've had this headset for a couple weeks now and although the build of it feels a little cheap the sound is really quite good. The surround sound processor sounds good using the optical input, and I really like having a separate volume control for voice chat and game. I only use this on my PC and setup is pretty easy, just set your computer to use the optical output as the default sound device and the Turtle Beach headset as the default communications device...then just set your chat client (Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, ect.) to output specifically to the headset and you'll be good to go for separate volume control - as that was a big selling point for me because I hate having to adjust mid game to get the right balance of volumes, now it's all at your fingertips on the fly. Having it all set up this way everything sounds clean and crisp all around and I don't hear any of the supposed "buzzing" noises that other reviewers have complained about. Other Pros are a clean sounding microphone with good SNR. Slightly more lightweight compared to the Razer Carcharias that I've used for the past 3.5 years (replaced the Razer due to the volume would cut out on one speaker when volume control was used and the microphone mute switch stopped working...mic on full time. I run using VOX and not PTT, so if dog started to bark I couldn't mute it). Very competitive price for a Dolby headset. The Cons: Has a cheap feel to the build of it, but hard to get much better in this price range for the features you get. The lack of a good soft flexible cloth covered cable to the headset is a letdown as I've been spoiled by the nice one the Razer had. When I turn the microphone switch on i get a small "pop" noise, but i haven't had anyone say they could hear it so I think it's only audible on my end...so not to big of a deal to me. And finally the padding feel is overall a little stiffer on the earcups & headband than the Razer, but even with some good long gaming sessions it's been comfortable...and in all fairness it may soften up some more over time, as I'm comparing it to a headset I've been using for a few years and don't remember how that one was when new. --- It's really only the stiff cable and build feel that's keeping it from 5 stars for me. All in all, I believe this will be a good purchase for anyone looking to update or upgrade their current headset. Like I said, I've only had this for a couple weeks so far and can't have any input about the long term life of it but if something comes up I'll try and update this comment. Read more
