Quality is on point and the price is good. I keep mine in the freezer so when I need them I don't have to wait. They last about 10-15 minutes depending on environment and person. Kids, I suspect they would last longer assuming they will sit still long enough. If you're busy and on the go, ace wrap or an old man's sock with the top elastic cut off will help hold it in an area so you don't have to sit still the whole time (though maybe that's the purpose). Plastic exterior is soft and malleable (if you're weird and like the swim floatie or new shower curtain smell-- you'll like these) :) If you don't, don't worry... if you keep them in the freezer, they do lose that 'new' smell. This large gel ice pack was such a tremendous help to me during my recovery from recent hip replacement surgery! It is so big that it covered my thigh from knee to hip crease. The pack re-freezes quickly after several hours of truly excellent icing that brings great relief. It has a smooth side so that it doesn’t irritate the skin. I covered the plastic (outside) side with a terry kitchen towel, but a bathroom hand towel would work well too, just to absorb condensation from that surface. I can’t recommend this highly enough. My boys play hard and get hurt, they are more of outdoors than inside kiddos. These ice packs are perfect, I took half to our permanent camper spot and have the other half at home. Great quality! Would totally buy again. Edit- these are still great but I have 2 that the seams have busted. I'm kinda sad because these are really nice. I broke my finger and needed the cold pack at 4am, too early for all of that lol. I'd still buy these again, I took one star away and added a picture of the busted seam. Read more

I bought these to use after my carpal tunnel surgery. I wanted to be able to target the incision area and have something that fit into my sling as well. These worked great and 2 months later my daughter is using them after childbirth-they fit well in a bra. Also great for using on kids since they are a smaller size. These are nice size and shapes. However, even after being in the freezer 24/7, they only stay cold for maybe 10 minutes. They do not get cold enough to feel through fabric but are just a bit to cold to put right on the skin. I bought these for a breast reduction surgery and they are the most useless of all of the ice packs I got. Initially I thought I would have an abundance of ice packs with this package added, but really they don't work well. I also purchased a mastectomy pillow for riding in the car and this bundle came with an ice pack that is the best ice pack I've ever had. It stays super cold yet malleable for 45 plus minutes, can be felt through several layers of fabric and gets very cold very fast. In comparison to that ice pack, I wish I could return these but my return window closed. I use them to supplement here and there and will keep them for minor things but ultimately I would not purchase again.
