The thing I really like about this bluetooth speaker is how small it is. It's about the size of a small salt shaker. As far as sound quality goes, something this size lacks bass when listening to music. However, the sound is clear and intelligible. The best thing I can think of to compare this to is the sound of a flat Echo Dot. The speaker comes with a handy carrying case and a charging cable with it's own separate pouch for storage. There is an on/off pushbutton switch on the underside of the speaker, and the underside has a rubber gasket so that the speaker stays in plays when set on a smooth surface. There are no volume controls on the speaker itself, so the volume is controlled from the device it is paired with (computer, phone, etc.). I got this because the speakers on my laptop are shot (absorbed metal shavings from production floor). This speaker sounds so much better than my damaged laptop speakers. I have a set of wired speakers in my office, but this works great for travel. The pouch fits easily in my computer backpack. I'm using it in the hotel I'm staying at right now. The product description says that you can pair multiple speakers and it will automatically switch from mono to stereo. Since you're not limited to the length of the cords, you could spread these out and have decent stereo sound with two of them going; I imagine bass would still be lacking. It works well in a pinch, or for having a Zoom call. There are two options that appear on my laptop when I have it paired. One says Hoaiyo Elf Stereo and the other says Hoaiyo Elf Hands-Free AG Audio. Use the first option. The stereo option is working fine for me. I've tried switching to the AG Audio option a couple times to see how it compares, but I get nothing but silence when I do this, and then I have to re-pair the speaker to get the stereo option working again. Two things surprised me about the Hoaiyo Elf - its tiny size and the sound it pumped out. It's about the size of a shot glass, but it makes sound like a much bigger speaker. No, it's not gonna fill a dance hall or auditorium, but it should make enough sound to satisfy most personal or small group needs. Instructions are scant but decent, except they don't even tell you how to turn it on! Turn the Elf over, though, and you'll see a button in the middle of the base. Press and hold it until you hear the welcome sound, and you're in business. To turn it off, just reverse the process. Pairing is simple and fast, requiring no special steps. It comes with a short USB cable, and I'm glad to see it is a USB-C device. Both the included zippered carry case and the speaker itself have lanyards, so there's plenty to hold onto or loop onto a bag, purse or pack. Given its small size, it's inevitable that sound quality is going to suffer some, especially at higher volumes, but most music and voice sound about as good as on your smartphone or digital music player. But the good part is that it can pump up the volume levels well beyond those devices, making it a "group" player. But you have to take it for what it is, and not expect it to be an audiophile device. For ten bucks it's a fun little speaker, and with its tiny size and convenient carry case, it's fun and handy. I had trouble saying it's a 5-star device, since it doesn't have great sound quality, but in the context of what it is and its budget price, I think it earns it. Read more

This is such an excellent product. I've got two or three of these mini speakers. This one is the smallest, the loudest, and by far the coolest. Don't get me wrong I like all of the other ones that I have. But it seems like they just keep making them better. And this one is amazing. It comes in a tiny little zipper pouch that is just the coolest thing ever. It'll fit in your pocket easily. It's got a loop handle on it and the unit has a loop handle on it as well. The unit gets really loud--volume is impressive. It's by far the loudest of any of my little speakers and perhaps any of my other Bluetooth speakers. The sound quality seems good to me...maybe even excellent. It certainly is as good as most of the other speakers that I have. The value here seems excellent to me at Amazon's current price of under $15. I mean you just can't beat that. I think it would make an excellent gift or stocking stuffer.
