It tickled me from the very start! Wonderful characters and the plot was great too with its "twists and turns." Being from the south myself, I could relate to the Brown family and the way they acted at the funeral too. It reminded me of my "drama queeen" relatives who loved to carry on at funerals like that too. All in all, it was good, clean fun and in the end, they all showed their love to each other. Yep! Great movie that will put a grin on your face and love in your heart. If you need a "pick me up" to watch...this is it! Read more

I love all of Tyler Perry's movies, shows and plays. The movie version of Meet the Browns is great, I loved watching it and finding scenes from What's Done in the Dark, the play. The movie had everything and even a little Madea. This movie was very real and relatable I felt as well, single mothers trying to do the best they can and finally landing on good times is a wholesome movie any day! Read more

I love every Tyler Perry production there is! His movies have excellent and talented character, wonderful and meaningful plots, a lot of laughs, a lot of tears, and wonderful endings. Who could ask for more? I got hooked when I saw "I can do bad all by myself" -- wow! That was a great one, and everyone I've purchased since have increased my love of Tyler's movies, and my respect for his great talent. Not to mention his wonderful acting in the lovable character, Madea! Read more

Not really a Madea movie, this is a comedy/drama/romance from one of his play's. I thought it was a really good family movie. Went immediately in the "watch again" pile. Read more

Tyler Perry's "Meet The Browns" is hilarious! David and Tamara Mann and Nicci Gilbert and company are comedy at it best. This play starts with Pop Brown death. Mr. Brown's brother (L.B.) and his wife Sarah call their daughter Ma-Lay to find out if the 107 year old Pop Brown is dead or not. They have not called the undertaker or police; Ma-Lay comes in and verifies that he is indeed dead. They stay up all night calling relatives and friends to let them know. Mr. Brown uses the occasion to introduce his family to his daughter Cora. Well, the laughter begins when they find out that Cora is Madea Simmons' daughter. Mr. Brown's sister Vera (Nicci Gilbert)who was drunk when she got the phone call, thinks that Mr. Brown is dead. She comes in crying "they done took my brother from me". When she finds out that it is her father the drama begins. They make funeral arrangements (Vera is in love with the Reverend Oliver - who is in love with Cora). Vera's son Will and his wife Kim find themselves in a love triangle with a woman who pretends to befriend the family (Trina Braxton). The funeral proves to be one that you will never forget. Tyler Perry is not in the play, but it is a gut buster all the same. Read more

This is another excellent Tyler Perry movie. It doesn't depart too much from the play. Of course Brown and Cora are in the movie and Madea makes a cameo in the movie as well. This movie deals with single mothers who have to raise children by themselves with no help or financial support from the fathers. It's also about learning that there are some people in this world that you can depend on and finding love. Everything Tyler Perry has made I've bought. He's brilliant and this is another T.P. collection to keep. This movie made me mad, laugh, cry, think and much more. In my opinion I think the movie is way better than the play. Either way, it's still good. David man is hilarious. Angela Bassett another great performance. I always love how his movies have meaning and purpose. Read more
