I use these in a couple of outlets in a six-outlet power strip. I needed a way to turn off two Ryobi battery chargers, as I did not want them on when not charging a battery. Works great. I already own another type of plug like this, but the problem is, the switch is on the side, which in my case means it's on the bottom, so I can't see if the plug is on or not! The benefit is that you can use two of those per outlet. This is the only plug where the switch is in front, which is much better, you can use it anywhere, though you can't use two on the same outlet (no space). The box says this is rated at 15A, 1800W. I am using it on a 1550W air fryer, and works great, doesn't trip off prematurely. I was worried at first about its being a surge protector that it might trip too easily, but it didn't happen. I always check to make sure that all my switch lights are off, for safety. I'm very happy to find this switch. It's a little more expensive, but the front switch is a big benefit because you can see it from any direction, which is easier to notice and safer. I am pleased so far. Read more

These are easy to install and use. No problems with them blocking the second half of a duplex receptacle. The first one I have is in a duplex receptacle above the counter top and it works well to turn on/off a small 10" fan that sits on the floor. Now I don't have to reach down and use the switch that's on the fan or bother with plugging it in or out to control it. The lighted switch is nice but I don't really need it. Some people may find that feature useful. The second one I use to turn on/off a small timer and network switch. And the last is handy to urn on/off a small phone charger. All three are in easy to reach locations. I picked this particular switch due to it's more robust internal design. Black is nice, it looks better with the black BackUPS, power strip and so on in my computer room. Some people have remarked that the ground pin is not grounded. Of course it is not, until you plug it in. I used a receptacle tester that confirms it is in fact, grounded when installed in a grounded receptacle. No worries for me.
