The media could not be loaded. This thing WORKS! I have used so many different knife sharpeners for some fancy knifes my in-laws bought for me and maybe it was me, but I couldn’t figure it out or the product was not up to par. This came with very easy to understand instructions for all different types of knifes, including scissors. I was able to take an extremely dull butcher knife and make it brand new! In terms of functionality, it made my knives sharper than before. If you are looking for a cheap sharpener then this could be for you. CONS: -Motor slows down excessively unless you use high speed. -Instructions are adequate but leave lots to be desired. They are easy to follow but don’t give you any tips or tricks. How much pressure do you apply? What angle do you hold the knife? Do you push it into the guide or into the grinding wheel? -Could bind up immediately if you aren’t careful. -Uneven sharpening pattern (could be user error) -Power cord can easily get caught in scissor sharpening slot. PROS: -Sharpened knives more than they started -All my knives went from tearing paper to cutting thru it -Quiet operation -Simple to use I’ve never used an electric sharpener like this. My Chicago Cutlery butcher block set came with a sharpening rod and I’ve used that for several years but I got this as I could never get that one to work well enough. I tested each knife thru a piece of paper, before and after, and this definitely made them sharper. For the $70 price i was expecting a more powerful motor that doesn’t bog down. I ended up just running it in high speed the entire time. Read more
