This phone holder is so much better than my previous one. It has all the adjustments that one could want - and multiple ways to mount - dashboard, windshield, vent. I prefer the dash mount because I also use a Garmin GPS and have the two devices fight it out for when I am driving. I can then choose the route I believe to be the best for the moment (I like using Waze on my iPhone). By having the iPhone on the dash I can place it so that I can see both devices at the same time in one quick look. I don't like the vent option because you have to look down and take your eyes off the road. The only adjustment issue I have is that you can't easily swing the unit left and right. So when you mount it you need to be pretty sure that you are placing it at the best diagonal angle - otherwise you have to dismount the sticky pad from the dash and reposition it - not exactly the easiest thing to do. All other adjustments are great and the phone is held steady no matter what its position is. I like how the phone gets snapped into place and held securely when you press your phone into the holder. And it's a quick release when you press the two tabs on each side - thereby getting it setup for the next time you want to insert your phone. This phone holder works great. It sticks to the dash like glue. I have had it mounted for almost a month now and it has never come loose. I also had the opportunity just this week to use the vent clip in a rental car. Taking the holder off the mounting arm in my car, putting it on the clip and vent in the rental, and then putting it back in my car was a piece of cake. I really like this and it does a great job. My wife has a large case on her phone and although it doesn't sit in the holder perfectly, it still holds it secure. Thinking of getting a second one for our second car. Read more

I knew it was going to be difficult to find the right surface to make this work but I hadn't anticipated at least 4 other issues. Hard to explain in words but 1. The range of motion in each axis is limited. I had hope to to stick the cup in one spot then articulate the pad in to where I wanted it. Think articulating boom lift/cherry picker. But the limits prevented that, 2. I had not realized the hinge at the base would protrude beyond the cup. Think heel. Making it difficult to set it back in to a corner or recess. 3. To operate the suction cup lever one has to raise the arm first. If my case I was barely able to get it high enough before it hit my windshield so that I could get my finger in to do this. 4. I could not extend the telescoping section to bring my phone closer to me because the suction cup could not handle the additional leverage It fell off twice. The weird thing is both were when the car was parked overnight and my phone not in it. All day it withstood speed bumps, Las Vegas roads and my less then dainty hands. The release mechanism for the phone is a kind of nifty idea but I wonder if this might be where it fails eventually. But I doubt there is anything better out there, even if the alternatives are more expensive. And it beats the rubber band I had been using. Read more

I have the mount stuck vertically near my steering column. I park my truck uncovered in Georgia heat so I didn’t want it in direct sun. Clean the surface before mounting and make sure to press the suction clip ALL THE WAY DOWN. I didn’t the first time, it kept sliding under the weight of my cellphone. Finally noticed I wasn’t engaging the suction clip all the way. All in all: THIS THING WORKS LIKE A CHARM! It has been installed for a few weeks now and hasn’t fallen off yet even when I’m off-roading. The quick grab/release tabs are such a great bonus to this mount. It gets 3 stars for doing what it is supposed to do, hold my phone. Functionality-wise, it kinda sucks. It has stuck to the window no problem, but one of the joints that hold my phone in place doesn't seem to be able to support the weight of my iPhone11 so it rests on my car dashboard. Typically I expect the phone holder to be able to support my phone on its own. Placing the phone into the holder to lock it in is east enough, there is a button trigger that automatically locks the phone into place once it hits the back of the holder, so that was nice. Removing the phone from the holder is clunky and awkward. There are two pressure "buttons" that you have to press that literally drop your phone out of the holder. If you use two hands to remove the phone (both hands on the buttons) then someone else better be trying to catch your phone so it doesn't drop on the ground. I have removed the phone once or twice with only one hand, but the holder's stability is questionable so I typically need to use 2. Read more

I originally wrote a fantastic review of this item. I am now revising my previous review. My first one broke shortly after I received it. I was given a refund so I could order another one. I assumed it was a defective item, but I still thought it was a quality item. I ordered a second one. My first one had so much adhesive on it that I had a hard time getting it off. It completely fell apart after a few weeks. I received the replacement, but just started using it. It has practically no adhesive on it and keeps falling off. I didn’t use it right away because I was purchasing a new car shortly. I contacted Customer Service and they would only give me a credit of ten dollars since I waited longer than they accepted. That’s about half of what I paid for it. I would suggest that you not order this one due to their product negligence and Amazon’s return practices. I spend a lot of money on Amazon and I have been ordering from them for years! I rarely have any issues with my orders, nor do I return many of them. I don’t understand why I didn’t get some kind of exception for my patronage or situation with this item. I guess everyone is getting concerned with money and not customer service anymore.
