These are simple easy to use plugs. they go straight inline with the outlet and function as expected. The only issue I run into is that sometimes the connection fails and I have to literally unplug it and plug it back in. I like them though, they work with my google home app and makes setting up timers and voice commands for several things. Read more

I picked up this smart plug with the idea that it would integrate smoothly into my Alexa setup. It technically does, but the process to get there was more frustrating than it should have been. To start, setup requires using the Gosund app. That means creating an account, logging in, agreeing to their terms, and adding the device there first. The app itself is poorly designed. The interface feels outdated and clunky, and the controls are pretty limited. It was clear right away that I wasn’t going to be managing this plug through their app long term. What I really wanted was Alexa integration. That required a second step—linking the Gosund account to my Alexa account, then syncing devices. Only after doing all of that was I able to finish setting up the plug and control it from the Alexa app or using voice commands. In the end, the plug works. But the process felt disjointed and unnecessarily complicated. The experience reminded me why I usually stick with Amazon’s own smart plugs. They’re more polished, and everything is managed in one place. While I appreciate that Gosund plugs are technically compatible with Alexa, the extra setup steps and weak app experience make it hard to recommend if your main goal is seamless smart home control. Going forward, I’ll probably avoid third-party plugs like this unless there’s a very compelling reason. Read more

I logged in using my Google account and was ready to go in minutes. Connecting it to Alexa was just as smooth. In the app, I went to the Me tab, tapped the Alexa icon in the service center, and linked the GHome skill. It showed up instantly in my Alexa app, and I renamed it for voice control. Now I can turn my lamp on and off just by saying the name I gave it. Couldn’t be easier. It uses a standard 3-prong plug, so make sure your outlet supports that.
