Sturdy and otherwise exactly as expected. I haven’t figured out how to use it on my legs without cutting myself, but I’ll keep practicing. I appreciate the simplicity and the price point, as well as all the extra blades. Read more
I purchased this razor a few weeks ago and have had ample time to acclimate to the new razor and the blades. First couple of times I did nick myself, but used styptic pencil (a must for DE blade users!) and all was good. The razor itself is sturdy and easy to handle. I like the heft and feel of it in my hand. I did order 100 count of Dorco blades. I shave every day, sometimes twice in a day. Previously used Harry's products. Have to say, shaving with the new DE razor blades takes a little getting used to. However, I paid a grand total of less than $15 for the razor and blades. I have well over a year supply of blades, whereas with Harry's products, that would be about 2 months worth. I do use a vegetable glycerin based cucumber infused which doesn't provide a lot of lather. It does however, create a smooth layer on my face allowing the blade to glide smoothly across my face. Leaves a fresh, very clean, and super close shave! A bit of a learning curve to get to know the angles but after a few days, it is all good. Will never go back to cartridges again. Should have transitioned years ago. This style of razor was the type I used when I first started shaving 45 years ago. Old school still rocks in this regard. Cheaper, good quality and better for the environment = win, win, win!! Read more
My 1st ever safety razor and I wish I made the switch sooner. I was looking at more expensive brands but this one just works. I haven't come close to cutting myself. I just followed the instructions and watched a couple of YouTube videos. It was great from the very 1st shave. Shaves clean and saves me money. There is zero reason to spend more. Read more
These converted me from the hella expensive multi blade cartridge razors. Was getting to the end of my stash of multi blade cartridges and not looking forward to shelling out the cost for their expensive refills. My son convinced me to try using a safety razor after years of shaving with the usual and, by comparison, very expensive multi blade cartridge razors. I was worried that I'd have cuts all over. Turns out, even less cutting than with the cartridge razors. And on top of that a quicker shave. With the cartridge razors I'd usually go back over spots several times to get the shave as smooth as possible. With these, when the blade is new it's just one pass. Used blade might take two passes and then replace it. The cartridges I'd try and use longer, because of the cost. Of course the longer the cartridge was used the more passes that were needed to get a smooth shave. A pack of ten blades costs about the same as one or two cartridges. So I replace them sooner than I replaced cartridges and still spend much less on my blades. Plus, they seem to clog less than the cartridge style. Shaving the over grown fine hair on the back of my neck is a one pass exercise. With cartridges, even new ones, it would require multiple passes because even new cartridges would clog with the fine hairs and need to be cleared to get the hair it wasn't cutting because of the clogging. I'm converted! Read more
For 5 dollars I figures I'd give this combo a try. I will say the razor is solidly made, nice size and weight, feels good in my hand. However the alignment of the head is off so it's only possible to get one side in good alignment parallel to the blade. One test shave using the included Derby blade was acceptable (only using one side of the razor). Note - the razor packaging says "Made in Pakistan". I believe the blades are made in Turkey. All in all, a decent value, but could have been great if the head aligned correctly. Read more
Fantastic razor, built well just like the name brands. Has a similar look and feel to Merkur at a fraction of the cost. As long as you have good blades, this razor is a solid choice. Read more
