Maybe My Pack Was Just Defective . . .

I was super excited to try these out because I cannot seem to find balance in applying/reapplying sunscreen! Unfortunately, these didn’t seem to work. They turned purple the moment they left the package. I applied sunscreen to them first (and even tried to keep them shaded under the beach pop-up) but they stayed purple. I gave them some time, applied new ones, and the same thing happened. When I opened the package, the stickers had all returned to their original, clear coloring, but the ones with sunscreen didn’t. I even had two different types of sunscreen during the separate applications, thinking maybe it only worked with mineral or non mineral, but the applied stickers NEVER returned to their original coloring (even when I literally covered them with my hand to block out all light). It seems that my pack may have had a defect that caused them to turn purple with sunscreen, but never turn clear again. We even tried to see if they were going to do some weird reverse thing, where they turned clear after the sunscreen wore off, but they never turned clear until they had been removed underwater (I stuck them in the edge of my swimsuit as not to litter, and after that they turned clear again…so either the sunscreen wore off, or they are way too UV sensitive). We bought these because we spend a lot of time at the lake and when we play we sometimes forget to reapply sunblock. They are cute and stick all day long! The only thing I did not like is the seem to ALWAYS be purple. We use Neutrogena SPF 50, apply and let dry before we go out into the water. I would get everyone lathered up up and ready to go have fun, but the darn sticker was always purple. It's a great idea, but not perfectly executed. while the novelty is cute, I would not buy these again. Read more
