This is an EXCELLENT vacuum! I think its the best vacuum at this price point, and even much higher. It arrived well packaged and was a snap to put together. Its like this machine was designed by someone who has actually used a vacuum before. It has a VERY long cord, so you arent constantly pulling the plug out of the wall and having to re-plug it in elsewhere. YAY! The filtration system is excellent, and the bags even have a rubber gasket seal so no dust can escape. That's right, it is NOT a bagless machine, and I'm thrilled about that. I HATE emptying those bagless models (so gross!). This vac has a feature that lets you release the full bag right into the trash without ever touching it (sa-WEET!) It has an indicator light that tells you when the bag is full, so you don't have to open it to check if it's time for a new bag. The bags are not made of delicate paper, they feel more like a non-woven fabric that prevents dust from escaping. Marvelous! It has a switch that turns off the rotating brush bar when cleaning hard floors or using the accessories. Actually, it has a nifty single accessory that EASILY converts from a crevice tool to a brush or an upholstery tool, so you don't have to keep swapping out one tool for another or worry about a tool getting lost. It stores right on the unit, snugly, and doesn't fall off constantly as you vacuum. It's very easy to switch to attachment mode (or above floor cleaning) by releasing the vacuum hose and clicking it in place on the wand. The wand releases easily and you're in business. It's just as easy to return to floor cleaning too. It has a very bright light, which you don't always see on a vacuum at this price. The suction power this vacuum has is fabulous! I haven't had it long to tell if it stays fabulous, but I think it will, because the machine has an indicator that tells you if you're not getting good air flow, so you know if you need to clean the filters or check for clogs or clear obstructions. It also has a little slide you can open to reduce the suction a bit if you need to, like when you're cleaning a smaller rug. The machine steers almost too easily, and it takes some getting used to as it will change direction with a slight turn of your wrist, like a ball type of vacuum, much easier than my old upright unit. The noise level is about the same any vacuum, not louder, not quieter, as far as I can tell. It does have a surprisingly narrow cleaning path, BUT, it cleans so well and steers so easily that it doesn't seem to matter! It fits between things much better I must say, and it goes pretty low, too, for getting underneath furniture. It's a breeze to use, even with the narrow cleaning path. If you have miles and miles of carpet in your home, it might be a factor, but I find that the machine is so physically easy to use and performs so well, and adapts so easily to my different needs that I don't really notice that. I'm finished vacuuming in a flash. I'm really pleased with this machine. Now only time will tell if it lasts me as long as a vacuum should, but I have high hopes. It seems VERY sturdy, and so well engineered. All the latches and connections are sturdy and sound, and the plastic feels strong and of good quality, not flimsy and cheap. I love this vacuum. It has HEPA filtration which is what I needed. Easy to change the bag, easy to handle, easy to go from carpet to bare floor, easy to use the handle as a wand for hard to reach surfaces, and it has a light! It does everything! It also seems sturdy. Love it! Update: after 11 months of use I can't say enough about this vac! I use this as my primary. I have a Miele canister (which is the best of the best & very pricey) but this vacmaster is so much easier to use & has great suction power. The bags last several months even with a cat! There is no dusty odor escaping! The only thing that isn't perfect is the hand tools. They tend to fall off easy because they store on the side & I'm always bumping them into something. I’m impressed with the suction of the light weight!! 5lbs is a lot less weight of my 17lbs Kenmore Elite. I professionally clean every day with both vacuums. I chose the smaller Vacmaster until I get my Sciatica fixed/healed. My biggest complaint with all vacuum cleaners is the hose length. I have to modify every upright vacuum I buy, with a longer hose. I usually have to use 1 1/4” attachments with the hoses I modify with. This little Vacmaster needs a hose at least twice the length, in order for me to use my extension wands and floor brush (A floor brush, cleans the corners better than the vacuum head). It will even hook up to the Kenmore telescoping wand, if you cut the little black tips off that lock it in place with the Kenmore elite hose. Unfortunately, it will wear the short hose out on the Kenmore Elite upright and the upright Vacmaster, if you’re not very careful. I need an extra hose added to the one I have, then I could use my floor brush with ease. Black electrical tape works wonders for add -on’s! It seems to be a durable little vacuum cleaner. It has great cleaning power/suction and it’s easy to use. I also add a 25 foot heavy duty drop cord to all my vacuum cleaners. I only like to plug-in once in the houses I clean. I have bought 5 Kenmore Elites for my professional cleaning needs. They have serviced much better with all my attachments and do more than commercial vacuums. I do not write many reviews, but this one warranted it. It is the worst vacuum I have ever used. It does not pick up a lot of small things, that most vacuums would get, when I turned it from hard wood to carpet, it a lot of dust came Out of the vacuum. Its heavy and hard to maneuver and the head is small so you have to go over an area many more times then the average vacuum, and the wand attachment is very short! After many years of all the gimmicks and bagless vacuums I finally learned my lesson. My husband and I were suffering from more and more allergy symptoms so I decided to go back to the basics and buy a bagged vacuum cleaner. I am so glad I did. This little gem gets my carpets clean and my whole house smells better even my husband noted that. It is great not to have to empty dirty vacuums and mess with gross filters. It is nice and light weight and has a nice hose stretch to reach high places. It is not loud. It has a nice light on it no gimmicks just clean. The nice thing also is my vacuum cleaner looks pretty not gross from a dirty looking dust bin which is something that bothered me with bagless. Read more

I bought this for my grandma for mother's day as she was struggling with her bag-less vacuums she has never had before but she still needed something lightweight and easy to use and this fit perfectly.
