I purchased this vacuum for cleaning the wood stove in the fireplace, the Buck Stove Model 21 insert fits well inside the old fire place. This vacuum was designed for this kind of application for cleaning out the fireplace and wood stoves. I'm pleased with the quality and design and it does a good job. Read more

This is a great vacuum cleaner. It keeps my pellet stove very clean. The metal hose ensures no hot ash will burn through it. I have used it several times without having to empty it. Very easy to maneuver around to get into tight spaces. Well worth the money!!! Read more

Overall, the product is wonderful. Worked like a charm to vacuum the pellet stove. Has angled metal hose wand that could get the corners for ease of cleaning. Only gave this review 4stars due to the casters. They are supposed to "snap" in place ... Tried everything, including tapping with hammer, to get them to stay ..... After the 4th try, i did not try again. That was disappointing, but canister is lightweight when assembled, so i can just pick up. The rest of the assembly of unit was easy. Read more

I absolutely love this ash vacuum for my pellet stove! The aluminum wand has given me so much peace of mind—I can finally clean up not so cold ash (below 100°F) without constantly worrying about safety. That premium stainless steel 5-gallon tank feels rock-solid and holds more than enough between trips to empty it. The 55 CFM airflow is seriously powerful; it sucks up cool ash way faster than my old shop vac ever did. I really appreciate the 14-foot reach with the heat-resistant hose—it makes getting to every corner so much easier. The accessories, especially the ash cartridge and washable pre-filter, are fantastic for protecting the motor. Plus, the on-board storage keeps everything tidy. Best of all, I no longer stress about hot ash burning through vacuum bags. This has been a total game-changer for me! Read more

I bought this vacuum to replace my 2 year old Porter Cable ash vacuum. This unit is built much better than my former vacuum. It’s got double the suction power, and seems much sturdier. They did a price drop on this vacuum and was half tempted to buy another one. I highly recommend this ash vacuum. Read more

Wood ash will quickly ruin a typical vacuum, thus a dedicated unit designed specifically for this purpose is required. I have used this vacuum once prior to each heating season for the last three years to clean out the flue channels in our wood burning masonry heater. Normal ash is removed every few days as it drops into a ash pan so the vacuum is only used to remove residual ash from the convoluted flue which runs through heat benches before exiting up the stack. Very little ash accumulates in these passages, less than 2 gallons is vacuumed each year, so I was expecting this vacuum to be up to the task. First, do not use this vacuum inside more than 5 minutes as the exhaust will fill your home with fine ash dust. It uses a filter panel that does not retain the smaller particles. It takes me about 30-40 minutes of vacuum time to reach all the recesses and I was horrified the first year after I finished to find every horizontal surface up to the ceiling in our home on our first floor covered with a thin layer of fine gray black dust. It took many hours to clean this mess and looking back I should have filed an insurance claim to clean up the colossal mess. I purchased a very long hose extension the second year so I could place the the vacuum outside and this solved that issue. Second, although it only takes about half an hour of vacuum time, the unit will only run about 10 minutes before it overheats and shuts down so I have to wait about another 30 minutes to start up again extending the time dedicated to this awful task by a couple of hours. Third, the suction starts out ok, but after only a couple of minutes is so poor it will not even completely clear the vacuum hose. I have found that if the tank is emptied and the filter shook out about after every quart or so of ash it will work but again extending this awful job. Because this is only a once a year chore I will persevere, but fine fireplace ash is just beyond the capability of this vacuum. Read more

This is a pretty solid product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the wheels it comes with don't want to stay on, which isn't a big deal for what I'm using it for and more importantly it doesn't actually have very strong suction. Again, I'm only using it to vacuum out my pellet smoker and my weber occasionally, but it struggles lifting out anything but the ash. Still, it does what I need it to and the build quality is really good, so not too much to complain about. Read more
