I bought this vacuum magnetic MagSafe-style car phone holder primarily for a completely non-car use: I stick it on the side of my fridge while I’m cooking. I don’t actually use it in a car — I just wanted a reliable, strong mount so I can follow recipe videos without juggling my phone. What I like: The suction is very impressive. Once locked, the holder stays firmly attached to the smooth fridge surface. I don’t worry about it falling off, even when I bump into it while reaching for a pot. The magnet is solid. My iPhone, in its MagSafe-compatible case, snaps in easily and stays put while I scroll through instructions or pause and rewind cooking steps. The 360° adjustability is really convenient. I can angle the phone just right so I can read the text or see the video clearly without having to shift anything around. The build feels sturdy yet flexible. The arm of the mount has enough rigidity that it doesn’t droop, but I can still reposition it quickly when needed. It’s surprisingly easy to re-seat. Because of the vacuum lock feature, I can twist to release and reposition without leaving any sticky residue or losing suction quality. What could be better: Because it’s designed for car use, some parts feel a bit over-engineered for indoor phone-holding. The arm could probably be shorter for my fridge-mounted setup. The magnet is very powerful, which is great overall — but if you want to remove your phone quickly, you might have to use two hands or finger the edges. If your wall or fridge surface isn’t super smooth, the suction may struggle (just a guess — luckily my fridge side is very smooth so I haven’t had an issue). Conclusion: All in all, this mount works exactly for what I needed — not for driving, but for hands-free viewing in my kitchen. It holds up well, is dependable, and gives me the flexibility I want when following along with cooking videos. This did not work swell for my car. I installed it, which was fairly easy to do but it didn’t stick like I needed it to. The holder and my phone fell multiple times as I was testing it out. To be fair, this could’ve been due to my dashboard as it’s not a smooth surface. It is pretty lightweight and doesn’t take up much space, it just wasn’t sturdy enough for my phone (iPhone 12 pro max). Read more

I installed this in a couple of places of the dashboard to find the perfect spot for it before giving my review. The dash mount is very good, just the perfect size to fit even an oversized cell phone, and you may be able to fold it when it is not being used. The suction functions great but you need to make sure that cup is flush to the dashboard surface before rotating the dial, otherwise it is not going to have a strong vacuum and it may adhere properly to the surface. I tried removing it every time I installed it and was not able to release it until I rotated the dial back counterclockwise. The fact that it can rotate 360 degrees is awesome and gives you a lot of flexibility to place it wherever you want near the driver seat Bear in mind that this only works if your telephone has a magsafe or similar system attached or if you use the magnetic ring that comes with the holder if your phone or case do not have magsafe capabilities. Once you understand the installation trick, this is a great phone mount for your car or truck. The magnet for your phone is strong, so it won't bump free. I've been on very rocky unpaved roads and it has stayed put. The mount has a rotational ratcheting feel, which is very nice and solid. There is a articulating arm that connects the magnetic phone holding ring to the base, and a very nice touch is that the mount comes with a kit for installation that includes an Alan wrench to tighten down the arm if you need to. The only issue I had was with installation. There’s no lever or button to press the center down, so the first time I tried it, the suction cup didn't sit flush against the glass and I thought it was defective. It turns out you have to do it pretty firmly: place the mount where you want it, put one hand on the outside of the windshield and the other on the mount, then firmly press the center of the mount base against the glass until you see the ring appear around the suction cup fully. After that, twist the locking ring and it locks down like a vault. The second product photo shows what I mean by making the ring.
