I was pretty happy with my previous holder but when I upgraded my phone I outgrew the holder. A friend had the Gen1 of this product that I really liked but then I saw this upgraded version and bought it instead. All the features I wanted from the previous product but with the added bonus of being able to pivot and swivel at both the base and the head. Great feature. I drive a lot of different vehicles so a holder that I can throw in my backpack and have it fit in virtually any vehicle and then pivot the phone to a position that makes it useful is paramount. I think this is a great unit; however, in my Nissan truck, it turns out to be too close to the shift handle and emergency brake. The unit is very functional though and holds my iPhone snugly. Happy with the design and functionality of this unit. Read more

Got a new car and didn't know what to do with myself - the thing has no regular A/C vents with horizontal slats! I got a few suction cup mounts to try, but couldn't find anywhere on the interior which felt secure enough or easy to view or access. Thought the windshield would be a good alternative, but I hated obstructing my view. Begrudgingly "settled" on this option, but was very pleasantly surprised! The expanding mechanism in the base is smooth and padded with rubber, and feels pretty secure once snugged down a bit. The arm is AWESOME to have and gives some flexibility to get the phone placement just right to avoid being in the way of anything but still easy to use and view. Besides the utility, it just plain looks like a part of my car with the patterned/textured base and clean overall look. The only thing I'm not super crazy about is the unlocking button, which ends up sitting square in the center of the back of my phone, so removing my phone from the mount always takes two hands for me; one to press the release (which actually requires a fair bit of force) and the other to grab the phone.
