I’m really happy with this vegan, biodegradable bamboo charcoal dental floss set. The refillable bamboo container is super nice quality and looks a lot better on my counter than the usual plastic floss boxes. It also comes with extra floss, which makes it feel like a great value and a good zero-waste swap. The floss itself works well. It has a light peppermint flavor from the essential oil, and the candelilla wax helps it glide between my teeth without shredding or feeling rough. I like that it feels sturdy and effective while still being an eco-friendly option. Overall, this is an easy recommendation if you want a more sustainable floss setup that still performs like a normal floss, plus the refills make it convenient and worth the money. Read more

My floss of choice was Oral-B complete SatinFloss, which has a ribbon shape, so all my comparisons are to that floss. Included should be pictures comparing the size of the bamboo container and the Oral-B satinfloss container, with a tape measure for a rough size scale. I chose bamboo over the glass container, so that I won't have to worry about chucking this into a bag and having the glass shatter and make a danger mess anywhere. Came with two spools of floss (50M each, one is already placed in the container). Packaging is a simple small cardboard box, and the floss spools wrapped in a little waxed(?) paper. About the bamboo container: the lid and body don't appear to be perfect circles. As in, when I first opened the package and felt the place where lid and body meet, I could feel it wasn't smooth. Luckily, I was able to twist the lid/body until the join seemed to match up, and the transition felt smooth. Just realize if that minor thing matters to you, it's something to be aware of. Maybe yours won't have this problem. Pictures included that hopefully show the difference. Floss shape/feel: This floss is not flat, and is more round than the SatinFloss, which I ended up liking because it seemed more able to pick up and floss out the food between my teeth. It's not too thick and not too thin for my teeth personally, although there are a couple of tight gaps that make it hard to get the floss in. I've included a couple pictures comparing the width of the flosses, held between my fingers. In one of the pictures I twisted the Satinfloss to show the 'flat' width as well. I will also comment the floss feels "grippier" on my teeth--both flosses glide through my teeth, but somehow this floss feels...scrubbier? on my teeth. Not exactly sure how to describe it. Could be a mental thing though. Sturdiness: So far, I've flossed with it maybe 7 times? 10? And it's broken/snapped in half once. It took me by surprise but it was a relatively clean break, and with this floss I haven't had fibers get stuck in my teeth. I don't recall Oral-B snapping on me before, but I'm willing to chalk the snap up as a fluke. Overall the floss feels very solid, but if it ever snaps again I'll definitely be keeping score. Overall, I'm generally quite happy with the buy and look forward to buying refills for floss! It's a happy bonus that the floss is (allegedly) biodegradable. I might eventually buy another to put in my bag to carry out. However, the real challenge is yet to come; I haven't eaten beef, which for me personally, likes to ram itself in the back between my molars, and can be a pain to floss out because the food matter 'blocks' the floss from being able to enter between my teeth. Whenever I eat beef and/or that problematic situation appears, I'll be sure to add an update to see whether this floss can handle that, because for me that's a make or break scenario for my flossing needs. Edit (December 22nd, 2020): The floss handled beef well! I was worried its round/not flat profile meant it would pose a challenge but luckily that was not the case. The floss has broken 2 additional times since initial writing, but they've snapped in the center and I was able to use the two halves to finish the job. For me, the snapping isn't a concern because it doesn't happen frequently enough for me to care. I do wear retainers nightly though, and there's one particular spot that really gives me trouble trying to get the floss in. So if you really need the thin profile of a ribbon floss to get in between a gao, you're going to have a tough go with this floss. Again, for me, this is just one gap, so I can live with this floss. As a note: once, the floss pulled itself back into the container so I had to rethread it through the little hole in the cap. To avoid this problem, after I pull the amount of floss I need, I shake the container to get as much slack as I can, then cut the floss slightly loosely, not tight. This has been enough to prevent the floss spool from rocking and pulling the floss through the hole. Read more

Best floss I've used. Some of my teeth are fairly tight, and it works fine. It's thinner than many plastic flosses. It's also strong and almost never breaks or shreds. Nice little container too. Read more

I appreciate that this product is less harmful. With that being said there is a big difference in the thickness of this product and regular floss. Glide really glides between teeth. This product really gets in the teeth and gets to know them haha. Which is good for cleaning purposes unless you have crowded teeth. I have had to buy special glide floss because a few of my molars snap other types. This product also snaps but is a bit worse the thick threads that fray get stuck in between my teeth and its so tightly in there that it's hard to get out. It kinda defeats the purchase if I can't use it on all my teeth and still need glide for the tight ones. With that being said this might be a more me issue than others. So if you have tight teeth I recommend another brand. I'm not sure if there are other healthier options out there that don't break but I can guarantee this one will. Read more

Having recently learned that many flosses incorporate PFAS, I looked for an alternative. The main thing I liked about my old floss was that it was a flat ribbon that didn't cut into my fingers. I'm happy to report that this floss does NOT cut into my fingers and is made of only healthy, natural products. Bamboo is fast growing & very sustainable. I got the cute bamboo floss holder which is refillable; no more throw away-plastic containers. And, no plastic in the packaging. No problem with shredding. Great product all the way around! I also like that this product is from a small business. Read more

I really like this product. I have very sharp, close together teeth and this floss is strong enough to make it (most the time) between my teeth without breaking. It's stronger by far than the other natural floss I tried. I also like the bamboo container. It's stable and the clip from which the floss is broken off is large enough to easily use. The plastic floss types I've used were forever shredding, leaving bits of floss in my teeth. This bamboo floss also shreds but not as much as the plastic. This floss is natural and I'm a convert.
