Surprisingly Effective for a Lightweight Budget Rice Cooker
The media could not be loaded. When I first removed this rice cooker from the box, I was concerned about the build quality because it is very lightweight and does not feel heavy-duty. However, after using it, I was pleased with how well it performed. This is exactly how I prepared the rice: β’ Light spray of non-stick spray in the inner pan β’ 5 cups uncooked rice β’ 6 cups water β’ Splash of olive oil β’ Sprinkle of salt The rice cooked in about 30 minutes and did not burn on the bottom. It was not overly sticky or too dry. The 5 cups of uncooked rice filled about half of the inner pan. Based on the pan size, I would not recommend cooking 20 cups of dry rice at once, even if the product claims a 40-cup capacity. In my experience: β’ 5 cups uncooked rice filled half the pan β’ 10 cups uncooked rice would likely fill the pan completely For best results, I would suggest not exceeding 10 cups of uncooked rice at a time. Overall: Despite feeling lightweight, this rice cooker performs well as long as it is not overloaded and is used within reasonable capacity limits. Read more
