Since posting my initial review, the company sent a brand new piece. Thank you. All I needed was one piece, but I appreciate the effort. Going forward, I hope the ball socket holds the Ipad effectiviely. This is a great product but after several uses holding my Ipad - the ball socket no longer holds its weight. This was what I bought it for. I contacted through Amazon, and they promised a replacement part which never came. So I contacted the company directly, and got the same - I sent pictures of the problem, and have had no other contact from the company. The light is fine, but the socket didn't hold. I have bought this lamp 4 times, as gifts, and as a replacement for my own. So, while I clearly love the setup of this lamp, and the price point is fine, I just cannot give it 5 stars because of the cheap plastic parts. The plastic fasteners that secure the lamp and bits, as well as the lamp itself are very brittle, cheap plastic. Viozon, please give option for buying metal mounting fasteners and an upgraded light. When assembling, I dropped one little fastener and it broke, rendering it useless. It only fell from the height of the position on the lamp to a wooden tabletop, so maybe 12 inches, or ~30cm. Frustrating. ADJUSTING THE LAMP ANGLE: ►IF YOU NEED TO ADJUST THE LAMP ANGLE, DO NOT just move the lamp piece, as the lamp and the mounting fastener will easily crack. ►Make sure you HOLD the mounting fastener by the metal join portion, not the plastic neck or ring lamp. Both can easily crack. If you don't drop anything while assembling your preferred setup, and don't move the lamp, it is great! But having bought 2 of these for myself, as I needed a new ring lamp and mounting fastener, I am approaching the cost of the higher quality version on the market. ►►FINAL POINT: This is suitable as a budget option, just be VERY careful with it. I researched for a while to find a stand to film crafting videos and myself for live streaming. Stands I found were upwards of $100-$140. That just wasn’t in my budget at the moment, so I purchased this stand with the thought of “just until” I can get the one I really want. I don’t think I’ll be switching to the more expensive brands. This stand is exactly what I needed! It’s heavy duty and holds my tablet, phone, and the included light with ease. Please make sure you have everything tightened down though. I use this often. My attendant uses this. It is amazing. It is easy to move from room to room. Changing the configuration is just a matter of unscrewing and popping one piece out for another. It is sturdy and doesn’t overbalance even with the phone in the center and fully extended. I could go all Mary Poppins and supercal…but I could never spell that bloody word. I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about it. Okay I just thought that it would be fantastic if it were cheaper but then I am guessing the product wouldn’t be as fabulous. UPDATE: Like many others who report the same the cheap plastic used with the light broke. Wonder if the company could provide the STL file so we can 3D print it that would be cool. The Good: Very solid, well designed stand. The Bad: There are limited applications for this stand due to its very small range of motion with the light. I would’ve opted for manually adjustable screws, but they chose Allen wrenches, for a flush design. that inevitably means you need to break out a toolbox if you need to make adjustments. The Ugly: Your face if you try to use this stand to shine the light down on anything you’re drawing or displaying on a table. The Summary: This is definitely a well designed and well-built stand, which could’ve benefited by a greater range of motion with the light instead of that swiveling scarecrow propeller thing.
