The Good: Easy to Take & Clean Ingredients The standout feature of this Vitamin D3 supplement is definitely the pill itself. They are very small, making them incredibly easy to swallow, even if you typically struggle with larger supplements. I was also pleased to find that there is absolutely no aftertaste or lingering flavor. For those who are conscious about ingredient lists, it's a huge plus that Xtravit avoids unnecessary fillers and added colors. It feels like a "cleaner" option compared to some other drugstore brands. Packaging The packaging is secure and does a great job of keeping the product fresh. However, I did find the bottle size a bit odd—it is significantly larger than necessary for the quantity of pills inside. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does take up a bit more cabinet space than it needs to. Value Pricewise, this lands right in the middle of the pack. It isn't the cheapest option on the market, but it’s also not priced like a luxury supplement. Given the high dosage (5000 IU) and the lack of fillers, the mid-range price feels fair for the quality you are getting. Verdict If you are looking for a high-dose Vitamin D3 that is easy to swallow and free of junk ingredients, this is a solid choice. While the bottle is a bit bulky, the product inside is excellent. Hard to say if stuff like this actually works, especially since I'm already taking a bunch of other vitamins and such for the gym. But it seems to have a lot of good stuff in it, and I've never tried this particular thing before. I take them in the mornings before going to the gym and before work, and I do seem to feel more energized at both, so that's pretty awesome. Might just be a placebo effect, but I'll take it. No bad side effects either, so that's good. Value is about average with a one-month supply. Read more

I’ve been looking for a "clean" Vitamin D3 without all the junk, and this does the job. These tablets are small, easy to swallow, and I love that they don't contain any sugar, gluten, or unnecessary fillers. I started taking the 5000IU dose a month ago as recommended by my doctor (I do not get enough sun, haha!), especially during the winter months. I take it every other day without food. It’s a high-potency, non-GMO supplement that I will keep taking until my next bloodwork to check my levels. I feel like my energy has improved though that is hard to verify. The only weird thing for me is the bottle is so much bigger than it needs to be, the pills are small enough that they barely cover the bottom, but other than that, they are a good value. Read more

This is a solid, high-dose option for vitamin D3. The tablets are small and can easily be broken in half if you need less than 5,000 IBU. Although they appear a little chalky (no coating, not capsules), they're small enough that they're easy to swallow. I've never heard of this brand before, but a little bit of online searching suggests that the company has a good reputation and that this supplement is free of sugar, gluten, and other allergens, and contain no dye or GMOs, if you're worried about that kind of thing. You definitely pay a premium for a "cleaner" formula that is "formulated" in the US, but it does not explicitly state where it is manufactured. The bottle came with a standard shrink-wrapped seal and is stuffed with cotton to maintain freshness. If you're on the hunt for this dose of vitamin D and want a formula that purports to be free of GMOs, allergens, and fillers, this is likely a good option for you! Read more

I've been taking this for about 3 weeks now, but I don't feel much change. It doesn't have a bad taste, but think I may have to go back to prescription to get the amount of D I need. I will see next week when I get a blood test done. The supplement is ok and I wouldn't say avoid it. I haven't had any bad side affects, so if you're looking for something to try give it a month and see how you feel. Read more

I've taken this product for the past 10 days. I consistently use D3 in the winter months to supplement the lack of sunlight where I live. Because of that long experience, I can confirm that they are effective. I have not experienced any unwanted side-effects. They're as easy to swallow as any of my daily supplements, and I don't see any challenges to using them. My first impression of these D3 Vitamins from Xtravit was that the vitamin tablets have been placed in a hilariously large container. Since humidity control is absolutely vital for D vitamins, the greater volume of the bottle means a larger desiccant is needed to maintain effectiveness. The manufacturer needs to be thinking about that when choosing how to go about shipping and in particular for shelf-stability. They're fresh enough to do their job well, so there's no deduction to my star rating. It's just a strange thing to put 30 tablets inside of. Read more

While the bottle price is low, the cost per pill is about triple what you would expect to pay for vitamin D. I also have some reservations. Vitamin D usually has an oil carrier to help with absorb-ability. These are dry tablets, so you probably want to take this along with another vitamin that includes a carrier. Read more
