Vitamix blenders totally rock -- this is our second one we have purchased reconditioned, the first one lasted 10 years and was still going strong, we just wanted to something with programs. This one is really great -- we make multiple smoothies every day, and being able to turn it on and walk away is amazing. It is a bit loud, understandable given that we have it grind a pile of ice, and the ability to walk away from it and let it run helps deal with that. It is pretty fast, like less than a minute, and the consistency of the product is perfect. And the pitchers are easy to clean -- unlike many blenders where the blade screws on from the bottom which creates potential for leaks and crevices to clean, this one is one piece and super easy to clean -- definitely recommend! This is our first Vitamix product and it has been a star performer in the kitchen. Looks and works like brand new. Smoothies and other blends go down easy. The container and food pusher was brand new. Just remember to put the liquids on the bottom and you will be golden. Or don't; and just push the stuff down there. Wish I had purchased one sooner. Amazing blender. This blender is very powerful and has no issue chewing through ice cubes. It can be a bit noisy on higher settings, but nothing I would consider to be a problem. I would expect noise if something is powering through ice cubes like it’s nothing. I like that it has some automatic programs so that, for example, it’ll start slow to mix, then ramp up to grind/blend. Cleaning it is a breeze. You just lift out the container, which has the blade built-in, and wash it out. The lid is a silicone type material so is easy to clean as well. Excellent item. I am delighted with the smoothies, so well blended and tasty. Also tried the ice cream feature for chocolate ice cream and it was a hit too. I haven't tried the soup setting yet. It looks and acts like a totally new blender. Not as loud as other people mentioned. Besides, smoothies and ice cream do not take more than a minute. Very, very happy with it. Read more

Awesome blender and as powerful as a wood chipper. My only negative (thus not a five star) is that the juice setting is as loud as a wood chipper. I tend to either plug my ears or leave the kitchen in the morning when I'm making juice. That being said, i wouldn't trust a wimpier blender to fully liquify whole fruit as this device does. I also appreciate that this particular device is completely analog. I want devices with knobs and switches, not ones that tals to me. Read more

Holy cow, this thing is scary loud. Sounds just like the blenders at Starbucks and I thought it was going to take to flight and blast off thru my ceiling on the highest setting. The instructions make it sound as if you don't start it up in the correct order you might regret it. First power button, then check the second power button, then ramp it up. I'm used to the old 10-key push buttons where you just plug it in and use it. I bought this because it can make soup from scratch and that appealed to me. Just throw everything in and turn it to the soup setting and walk away and in 5 minutes you have piping hot soup. Read more

I had gotten the blender and the first time I used it, it walked all over my countertop. The rubber feet and base peeled from my having to keep it in place even marking up my white countertop. This was supposed to be a renewed premium product. Not sure how it passed their inspection process. Ive returned it in hopes maybe I’ll just buy a new one instead? It blended well, but boy did it move all around and leave a mess. Even the base was rubbed off where the blender sits from the vibration. Please Amazon have a better inspection process so people don’t have to go through the inconvenience of returning, waiting for a refund, and then only hoping the next one works properly. Read more
