Had a tore rotator- cuff and had surgery, this sling was a GOD SEND, therapy four times a week for 3months. I was not scoped, did not do that at that time. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY , HAD TO BE CUT WIDE OPEN, what a chore, therapy was painful, but my therapist was ALITTLE bit of a pusher, but a excellent therapist, he new what I did for a living, which was physical, if it wasn’t for him I would not be able to move my arm much and keep my job, but this sling was terrific, had to a lot of things on my own but took my time and he checked this sling out and said this will help me out in recovery, he recommended this highly, well made, quality material, a lot of thought went into this sling. Took me along time, patience, and strength to get back to were I was. Thanks VIVE HEALTH FOR SUCH A WONDERFULL SUPPORT SLING. HIGHLY RECOMENND. THE ONES THAT HAVE ISSUES WITH IT, JUST REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO BE VIGALENT, AND WORK HARD AT YOUR THERAPY AND AT HOME. GOOD LUCK. Read more

Bought this to use after I had surgery a month ago to remove my Scalene and Pec Minor muscles on my right side. It’s fabulous! 1) the adjustable waistband attaches to the actual sling (pouch) that your arm rests in by Velcro and has really helped me to resist (literally) the urge to use my right (dominant) arm for even little things because it keeps my arm stuck to my side. If I was using one of thos crappy blue slings the hospital gives you, I would still have the mobility to move my arm to reach up and open a door or talk on my phone, ie. With this sling it stays securely velcroed to the waistband support. 2) there are pockets inside of the sling pouch for you to slide your phone, credit card, chapstick, etc so they are easy to reach and you can skip using a purse or avoid using your right back pocket (that’s where my phone usually goes). 3) every single strap is adjustable on both sides that it attaches to the sling so you really can make sure it is completely comfortable for your body and whatever clothes you are wearing. 4) the grip ball comes out so you don’t have to wear it if you think it’s bulky. 5) the waistband support block and padded should strap features make it so there is virtually ZERO pressure on your shoulders. In the past I have used slings and after walking around, my arm doesn’t hurt but my back, shoulders and neck and dying. Not with this one!! It truly supports everything. I need it now more than ever since I had practically all of my best muscles removed. 6) I am now back to work and do a lot of computer work. I’ve been able to re position the waistband block and sling so that I use it to support my arm in my chair while using my mouse on a slide out keyboard tray while still keeping my arm strapped/velcroed in so I don’t risk inadvertently reaching for something that might re-injure it. The only thing that could make it better is if it came in more colors but I do realize that’s kind of silly so I’m giving it 5 stars. Read more

If you're reading this, you or a close friend must be enduring the same should injury healing process that I am, thankfully, almost through with. In my case, it was a cycling crash and a broken clavicle. Following my surgery, I was put in a Donjoy Ultrasling III. Hands down an awesome sling. However, as a competitive cyclist I felt compelled to begin indoor training after 2.5 weeks of recovery, with 4 weeks of "sling time" still to go. Knowing how much one sweats while indoor cycling, I decided to buy a second sling for these workouts. The Donjoy is about $120 - 3-4 times the price of this Vive sling, so I bought this one. Overall, it has been great. The general quality is not bad, but the use of slightly lower quality materials and fewer features is apparent. Overall, I would say in comparison you get more for your money with the Vive, but if you want the best, get the Donjoy. I don't mind the slightly lower quality materials and straps, etc. they work just fine and it is only for 6 weeks or so (I hope!). The problem is on both slings there are short straps near the wrist area on each side of the sling that connect to each other and the shoulder strap. This keeps the sides together and provides for a very secure and snug fit when all is connected and it's being worn - no problem there. The problem is that on the Donjoy, each of those short straps are independent and not connected to each other and the shoulder strap has two clip connectors to connect to them both. This means there is nothing that prevents the sling from opening wide at the wrist to allow you to gently lower your arm into the sling with no contortions or to slide the sling from the elbow to the hand. However, on the Vive these two short straps are sewn together and there is only a single connection (a Velcro flap) to connect to the shoulder strap. This means the sling cannot open fully and you cannot gently lower your arm into the sling without first getting your hand and wrist under that sewn-together piece that effectively permanently joins the two sides of the sling. You also cannot slide the sling from the elbow to minimize movement of your arm. There's plenty of room to do this, but in my first few weeks after surgery, there is no way I would have wanted to try that maneuver. I think there is absolutely no justification for this design and the cost to have made the two short straps independent and connect independently to the shoulder strap would have been inconsequential. I do recommend this sling as a low cost alternative to the gold standard Donjoy sling, but be aware that its design may cause you unnecessary pain and suffering if you have a shoulder injury that requires absolutely no movement of the shoulder. If that's the case, get the Donjoy and make the healing process as painless as possible. Good luck to you and get well soon! Read more

Infinitely adjustable and as comfortable as possible. I’m using this sling for a fracture in my Scapula. The sling I was given when I was discharged was horrible, hard to adjust, uncomfortable and painful to wear. The clips make adjustments and removal easy. Read more

Easy to adjust. Velcro holds good cushion slips some. I set it up before surgery so it was easy to put on once I had surgery. Love the size adjustments. Supports my shoulder well throughout the day and night. Is very durable. Read more
