When it comes to maintaining the quality and taste of ice from your GE® Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker, choosing the right water filter is crucial. The Waterdrop Replacement Filter, specifically designed for this ice maker, stands out not just for its compatibility but also for its enhanced design and quality features. Key Advantages: Ease of Use: One of the most significant improvements over the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) filter is the inclusion of a loop handle. This simple, yet ingenious addition makes the process of removing and replacing the filter remarkably easier. No more struggling to get a grip on the filter during routine changes. NSF 42 & 372 Certification: This certification ensures that the filter effectively reduces chlorine, taste, and odor in the water, while also meeting lead-free compliance. It's a testament to the filter's ability to deliver clean, safe, and great-tasting ice. BPA-Free Material: Health and safety are paramount, and the BPA-free construction of the filter aligns with this priority. Consumers can be confident that their ice is free from any harmful contaminants that could leach from the filter materials. Cost-Effectiveness: The pack comes with three filters, offering good value for the money. Given the quality and performance of these filters, they present a cost-effective alternative to the OEM filters. Compatibility and Performance: Designed specifically for the GE® Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker, these filters ensure optimal performance. The ice produced is clear, tastes great, and is free from any unwanted flavors or odors that can come from unfiltered or poorly filtered water. Minor Drawbacks: Limited Information. While the core features are well-documented, additional information about the lifespan of each filter or specific contaminants removed would be beneficial for users seeking more detailed specifications. Conclusion: The Waterdrop Replacement Filter for the GE® Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker is a high-quality, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution for maintaining the purity and taste of your ice. The addition of the loop handle for easy replacement is a thoughtful design enhancement that sets this filter apart from its OEM counterpart. With its certified safety standards and effective filtration capabilities, it's an excellent choice for any owner of the GE® Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker. Read more

Works as advertised. We have well water here from an aquafer that has a modicum of calcium in the water. This filter works well enough that the ice from the machine is very good. Easy to install. The tip fits perfectly into the receptacle and there is no slop after installation. Read more

I bought these filters based on the reviews, thinking I was getting a filter that was a good replacement for the GE filter. However, after using this filter or multiple of these filters here is what I wish I knew before I bought them: 1. They don’t last as long as advertised before you have to replace the filter. Even soaking the filter 5-10 minutes before doesn’t make a difference. 2. Most of the time your ice machine will stop working as the filter doesn’t allow adequate water flow so the machine keeps saying add water. 3. Even with the loop on top these filters are impossible to remove so you can put a new filter in. It takes me about 30+ minutes to wrestle the filter out with the machine drained. I usually end up cutting my hand trying to get them out. 4. Using distilled water doesn’t make a difference in the filter lifespan. 5. Should had put more weight on the 1 through 3 star reviews over the well written 5 star reviews. Would I recommend these filters to others? With a resounding NO! Don’t waste your money, time or effort with these filters. Read more

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean ice mission accomplished — now my Opal is basically a water chef 😂🍹 If you’ve got a nugget ice maker, you know that delicious chewable ice deserves great water behind it. This replacement Waterdrop filter snaps right into my GE Profile Opal ice maker and instantly started turning meh-tasting ice into something I actually want to sip and chew on — no weird chlorine aftertaste or sad “is that water water-flavored?” vibes. Installation was so easy even I could do it without pausing the music. Just pull the old filter, pop this one in (that handy ring pull helps), and you’re good to go. It’s NSF 42 & 372 certified, BPA-free, and keeps the ice pure enough that I’ve caught myself craving ice just because it tastes that fresh. It’s designed to last around three months or about 150 gallons of water — plenty of time between swaps if you use your Opal like we do. Whether you’re making drinks, chilling smoothies, or just sneaking cubes straight from the bin (no shame), this makes the whole experience feel clean and tasty. Great little upgrade for any nugget ice lover! Read more

Edit: THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Edit #2 I received my replacement filter, and unfortunately, those, too, did not work. The customer service was outstanding, though. After my review a representative from Waterdrop reached out and apologized for the issue. Not only did she apologize, but she offered a full refund and replacement filters to see if they work. They refunded the money within a reasonable amount of time and the replacement filters just arrived. I am hoping that they work as I want to keep supporting companies with such a focus on customer satisfaction. Even if they don’t work on my model I’ll still keep this review at 5 stars just because of the effort made to resolve my issue. I added the filter with the steps seen on the reviews. I soaked in water to get bubbles out. Now I keep getting “Add Water” even though the side tank was full. I did notice the hose running from the side tank only had bubbles. I tipped it over to get more water in, but even after that the water would not flow into the opal ice maker. It removed it and it started making ice again. It seems this filter causes problems with being able to feed in wanted from the side tank. Read more
