I specifically needed a webcam which does not include a built-in microphone because I already have a microphone which was included with my sound card. I do like the Privacy Cover which is a unique feature which can be a reliable means of preventing unwanted surveillance. This is an affordable webcam solution. It is certainly not the nicest one you could buy, but it should get the job done. This is rarely connected to my computer. I purchased it primarily for Zoom meetings and for skyping with girls. This camera is not compatible with Facial recognition (Windows Hello) which is a feature that I was hoping I would have the ability to use. Read more
Perfect fit. I did not want a camera with a built-in mic--yet another device capable of listening to my every word. I was surprised to find that microphone cameras seem to be the norm now, and was glad to find this mic-free one. I'm even more pleased that this camera fits snugly on the top of my external monitor, has a built-in lens cover, and a nice long USB cord. The picture is clear and not too close up. At first, this camera seemed to work great. It wasn't expensive, and doesn't have a microphone. I got this for working from home and needing to be on video calls. However, after only about 6 months, it's not working. See photo.... it has these bright lines running across the screen. Sometimes it's just at the very beginning, sometimes it won't stop and I have to stop sharing video altogether. Waste of money, I had to order another camera. Read more
Security experts recommend this type of option. I have two high quality monitors, and as is the current trend, peripherals are not included. I appreciate that. I want to have control of microphones and cameras. I can always unplug this camera (it's plug and play), and I can have the privacy screen switched over when not in use. It provides a great image, and is easy to use. Literally plug and play USB. Easily mounts on the top of my monitor. Easy to angle the camera however I want once it's mounted and stays put. Read more
I was really hoping to like this because I didn't need a webcam with a mic and this is the only one I could find without one, but unfortunately the experience isn't good. Cam quality is as you would expect for this price but the cover is ridiculously hard to move making you move the camera angle and everything every time. For meetings thats just not ideal when you want to cover and uncover quickly in my opinion. I spent time fiddling with the camera so it doesn't look strange every single time I had to use it.
