I got this item and it works great! I even bought another one for my kids room, and itโ€™s been a big help during the hot summer days. The included ice packs donโ€™t make much difference, so I freeze thin rectangular containers of water instead than add with water to the fill line, it cools the room nicely. It does take a minute to really start cooling, but once itโ€™s going, the room stays much more comfortable throughout the night. Iโ€™ve also found that keeping it on the low setting makes the water last longer before refilling. Overall, a great alternative to a traditional air conditioner for windowless rooms. Read more

I would call this more of a fan than an air conditioner. Itโ€™s easy to use, although the drawer for the water doesnโ€™t actually remove, so youโ€™ll need to use a pitcher to refill it. The ice packs definitely help with the cooling, but without those, itโ€™s moderately efficient to cool a room. The noise is also moderate, but I sleep with a fan and appreciate the white noise effect. The design is nice and compact. Without needing a window vent and the fact that it has wheels makes it highly mobile and easy to relocate. All in all itโ€™s fine. I canโ€™t really expect much more for the price, but had hoped it would make more of a difference cooling upstairs bedrooms (roughly 120sq ft each, bought one unit per room). Read more

Water around the cooler drenched the rug and wood under.

Used this for about a week, then it started to smell like old, dirty water. Found the area around the cooler drenched with water. Tried to dry the area. The water under the rug was so much, it also drenched the wood under and this wood became bloated. THe heavy duty fan to dry the area is still on after 3 days. This device should have a warning ..
