I've been the proud owner of this nifty C Shaped Side Table for almost 4 years now. It's survived three moves unscathed and has become the unsung hero of our living room. Is it worth the price? As I mentioned, we moved 3 times since we have owned this side table and let me tell you it was not treated gently during these moves. It survived without a single dent or scratch. In the spring and summer, I even take it out on the patio to do my work while getting some fresh air. Negatives: Here's the scoop: the sleek black veneer on top is chic, but it's also a fingerprint magnet. Originally I wanted it to go to the side of my couch and kind of hang over the ledge, but my armrests on the couch are too tall for it. Or maybe it’s too short for my couch. Anyways, it’s stable and doesn’t tip very easily on carpet so I started using it for typing with my keyboard and for my son to eat a snack. Great multi-purpose and sturdy table. My only complaint is the smell… it smelled SO bad out of the box. Almost like that cheesy bacteria smell you get on public transit and other heavily trafficked areas. It smelled gross so I gave it a good wipe down lol. The initial texture of it was slightly sticky as well but in a uniform, chemical layer type of way. Strange all around. The sticker on the underside warns you about cancer from wood dust and other contaminants on the unit. I assume this is more like a warning they have to put, and no different than CA prop warnings etc. All things considered, 4 stars because it’s sturdy, easy to put together, looks nice in the room, and does a solid job of being a table. I would have removed another star but it arrived in perfect condition and really is sturdy so my complaints about it like size and smell are minor considering I didn’t even look up the dimensions prior to sale. It was better than expected. I had bought one before this one and it's nice, but this is much nicer, little bit taller, wider top and it holds heavier items. I can use it not just in the living room. Very happy with purchase. I put it together in 30 mins. :-) Read more
