I got the YOHO Rolling Sharpener and put it to work right away. The rolling Sharpener comes very nicely packaged it a box with a carry bag. I really did not want to like it at first. I put it to the test on my oldest most dull knifes I have. A few simple rolls, and I was able to cut a radish will little to no pressure. I'd like to start by saying that I am in no way a professional knife sharpener. However, I have a had a broad frame of reference sharpening a million little things while tinkering or for working or to keep my household running. I have used gadgets, different electric grinders, stones, sticks, the sidewalk, whatever. This is one of the easiest and most consistent knife sharpening systems that I have used. Out of everything I've used, I choose to compare this to the $600+ Edge Pro kit that I have. I need a sharpener that helps compensate for my total lack of skill and coordination. I have sharpened enough things to know that I can't get an edge I am proud of without that support. That's what is great about this simple system. I don't need to worry about the angle of my hands or the pressure I am applying. The bulk of the important aspects of knife sharpening are handled by the tool itself. To test this system, I sharpened 2 knives. One was AUS-8 and the second was S30V. Obviously, it took the S30V longer to sharpen. However, I think it came out nicer looking. The first 2 pictures are "after," then "before." The order is the same with the second 2. The first 2 are the AUS-8. You can see the consistency of the edge created by the Edge Pro in the before pictures. Due to my profiles of these knives, I wasn't able to secure them enough to entirely stop blade movement with the Yoho. However, they look REALLY good. I am very impressed. The only thing I wish for the Yoho would be some finer grits. I understand that some bit of jaggedness is beneficial to the cutting process. Regardless, I do enjoy a more mirrored finish. This sharpener is, to me, absolutely perfect for quickly sharpening utility blades. The course end cuts quickly through the metal. The finer end smooths things out, but still leaves enough roughness to function like microscopic serrations. I will be keeping and using this sharpener. It does an awesome job. I'll still use the Edge Pro on the knives I want more for show. It is nice, though, to have an option that doesn't take 3-4 hours to get just right. Read more
