Far Better Than I Expected

I am an older gamer who grew up on The Mask of Zorro, and the black and white shows, but am not at all familiar with the animated series that this game is based on. I purchased it based on a great sale price, and then had buyers remorse (having not even played it yet). I mean, what did I really expect from THIS game? Several months later, I decided….well, I own it, so I’d might as well give it a try. And, when I did, I was very pleasantly surprised. If you’re looking for an experience of either the Arkham or Spider-Man series of games, this game isn’t that. It shares some gameplay concepts with those titles, but is less gritty or violent than those games. Remember-this title is targeted toward younger gamers who are probably familiar with the animated show. That said, it’s a good, well made game. I think the gameplay is smooth, it’s of a lesser difficulty, which makes it fun sit-down and play (rather than frustrating), and I like that it offers character options that make it a fun play for boys or girls (who can play as either Zorro or Inez). Zorro games have traditionally never been terribly good, but this one is a sleeper that I’m glad that I didn’t sleep on. I really enjoyed it. Read more
