I purchased this as a replaement for a window ac unit. And I also was needing a dehumidifier and this does both the window kit plates that comes with this ac was a little to long to use in my window horizontally and to short to use just the one plate piece so I had to trim just a lil bit off but it is easy to do just measure well and use caution so you don't crack the plastic plate. After trimming I just used some weather stripping foam at the end I trimmed I also used weather stripping on top and bottom of plate in order to give the window a more airtight seal and used weather tape to make sure everything is air tight. The hardest part of installing ac was putting the silver insulation sock on the vent hose it was a little hard to slide it all the way on and getting it to stay close where the vent hose connects to the unit but it is well insulated protection for the vent hose, the ac rolls to and is easy to roll around I have wood floors but I also have a shaggy area rug and it rolled across of it with no problems , I haven't used it for to long yet due to season beginning to change but it cools well so far I'm not sure how well the dehumidifier is working because there hasn't been to much liquid coming from the unit. But so far I really like it and I like that it was easy to install much easier than a window ac unit. It is a lil bulky and takes up a bit of floor space because you have to allow so much room from the wall for the vent hose and you have to have at least one foot of clearance all the way around ac unit for ventilation so if you have a small space you might want to think about the room you will need approximately 3 to 4 feet square feet of floor space maybe a little more. Also the drain pipe isn't long enough to go out of a window so you will need a bucket to catch the water or drill a hole and make a drain from the floor or wall to the outside . only used for a short time But so far I really like it easy to install works well cools very quickly so much easier to deal with than trying to install a window unit and it's portable so you could take it anywhere that has electric and a window for ventilation. I bought this portable air conditioner as a gift for my aunt who lives in an older home that turns into a sauna every summer. She has tried fans, open windows, and even ice packs wrapped in towels, none of which really helped. This unit has been a huge upgrade for her. It is compact but powerful and with 10000 BTUs ASHRAE it cools her living room quickly and quietly. One time she accidentally switched it into dry mode thinking it would cool faster and then spent an hour wondering why it was not working right. I got this portable air conditioner for my converted garage which I use as a home office and part-time hangout spot. In the summer it turns into an oven and fans just move the hot air around. I did not want to install a full window unit so this seemed like the right option. It cools the space pretty quickly and the remote control makes it easy to adjust the settings without getting up from my desk. Setup was pretty simple. The window kit fit my side-sliding garage window well enough although I had to use a little extra foam to seal the gap. Once it was in place the AC started blowing cold air within minutes. It is on wheels so I can shift it around if I want to cool a specific corner faster. The sleep mode and low fan setting are both quiet enough for working or watching a movie. There were a couple of small hiccups. I accidentally put it in dry mode the first time and thought it was broken until I read the manual. Also if the sun is hitting the garage directly it struggles a little to keep up unless I keep the blinds closed. Not a dealbreaker but something to keep in mind if your space gets a lot of sunlight. Overall I am really happy with it. The unit cools my garage office enough that I can actually work comfortably even in the middle of the afternoon. It is much better than sweating through Zoom calls or trying to type while sticking to my chair.
