My bedroom is above our garage with a large south facing window. This means it gets super hot no matter the central AC setting. So, instead of spending a fortune on electric to have my central AC continuously try to 'catch up' I added a portable unit to my bedroom. I really didn't want a window unit b/c they look kinda junky and this would be on the front of my house, plus I wanted to keep the screen on my window b/c of bugs. I searched a few and chose this one as my top 3 but went with it in the end b/c at the time there was a $70 off coupon on Amazon. I'm so glad I did. It's very easy to use and works very well. It only services a bed room but it's as large as a 3 car garage so it really works for a good sized room. I'll definitely be purchasing another one next year for a covered patio because this one works so well. You do need a place to vent it so there is a hose that sticks out back to a window, we just kind of hid that hose with the curtain. We were also able to leave our screen on the window to prevent bugs from sneaking in and then taped around the exhaust to seal it tight. My only suggestion would be to put it on something. We put it up on a wood crate, this allows for better water drainage from the unit b/c the drainage port is on the VERY bottom of the unit. I will also say that it can pull a lot of water out of the air so the drainage bucket may need emptied daily depending on how humid it is where you live. I'm in OK, so it's pretty humid. Read more

I love everything about this but 1. It's quite, energy efficient and offers 2 speeds and really puts out the cold air. The remote control is easy to use and the temperature controls make sure that you can set it and forget it. It's really quiet and looks amazing in any room you put in. The only thing that I don't like is the exhaust hose is made of a thin plastic that really gives off the heat. Upgrading to an insulated exhaust hose has made me love it even more and it fits the exhaust hose kit that comes with the air conditioner perfectly using a layer of HVAC tape eliminates any leaks and make it even quieter. I noticed some of the reviews mentioned water overflow and having to use a milk crate to set it on and use a bucket underneath the drain plug to catch it with. Here's what I discovered it only happens when you use the dehumidifier setting in really muggy rooms for long periods of time and the resovor fills up and runs over. It comes with a drain to hose and sitting it up off the floor and running the hose into a small gallon size bucket will keep everything going smooth as long as you keep the bucket emptied out regularly. I was able to avoid all that because I never needed to use anything but the fan and the air conditioner settings. If you are looking for a nice air conditioner that is built to give you years and years and years of high quality service and not leave you sweating to the oldies..this is the best one I've found. I highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of being hot 🔥🥵. Read more

Love this thing. as noisy as expected but works great. Have only had it for a few months but really cools down one bedroom and the connecting room very nicely. The window adapter really did not fit so some improvisation was needed. Price was good, I would purchase again. Read more

So pleased with this. It works very well. I live in a 3bd mobile home. Our central air went out 3 yrs ago landlord would not replace. Normal window units did not cut it for various reasons. This seemed to be our last resort wish I had purchased one much sooner. It cools the back hallway, the kitchen, our living room, the front hall and with an extra fan pushing the air down the hall my son's bedroom. First the setup. It can be a bit tricky so take some time to do this without rushing. You know the measure twice cut once kind of philosophy. second if your house is humid I would start drying it out first with the dry mode. It pulled a lot of moisture out of the air and once it felt better we then switched to cooling mode. Then follow the directions in the manual on page 15. Our internal temp was 94 which was actually hotter than outside. Within a week it has managed to keep us between the high 70s and low 80s. Which is actually very comfortable given the temps outside. To use self evaporative mode make sure to attach the hose to the lower and upper drain. Using the upper drain only you will need a bucket to catch the water the unit does not cool as well doing it this way. NOTE** it will help to cool the room(s) better is you use a fan that oscillates on low setting to help move the air around. Read more
